Thriller

After being stabbed at the end of Eve, Joe Quinn is clinging to life in a hospital at the start of QUINN. While fighting for his life, Joe remembers back to the first time he met Eve Duncan. Bonnie had just been kidnapped and Joe had been brought in from the FBI to help with the case. The tragic disappearance of Eve's daughter Bonnie opens the door for Joe to enter Eve's life and thus begins a romance like no other. Now, after so many years of hunting and hurting, they may finally be close to an answer but Joe's life may be the payment exacted for the answers to all of Eve's questions.

Catherine Ling will do anything she can to help bring Bonnie home to Eve. It's the least she can do after Eve brought Catherine's son home to her. Feeling guilty for bringing John Gallo, Bonnie's birth father, back into Eve's life, Catherine heads out after him to do what Joe is currently incapable of doing; hunting him down and demanding answer. Answers are one thing John doesn't have though. A former prisoner in North Korea, the mistreatment at the hand of his captors has left Gallo with memory problems. He may have murdered Bonnie, but even he can't remember. With so many obstacles still in the way, will Eve ever get the answers she wants about Bonnie's disappearance?

A master at her craft, nobody does suspense like Iris Johansen. I have been a fan since the first time I picked up The Ugly Duckling, still a favorite book to this day. I quickly started reading everything she had written after that and soon became immersed in Eve Duncan's world. Ms. Johansen has captivated readers for over ten years with her Eve Duncan series and now it's finally coming to a head. In the second book of the trilogy, we discover the origins of Eve and Joe and get to see how their story started. With each chapter filled with more action and suspense, QUINN will have you demanding the very answers Eve has spent countless years looking for. A dramatic build-up to the last book in the trilogy, QUINN will leave you with bated-breath until the release of Bonnie, when all the answers that come with her book will finally be revealed. October can't get here soon enough.

SUMMARY

Former Navy SEAL turned cop, Joe Quinn has seen the face of evil and knows how dark the shadows of the soul can turn. But when he met Eve Duncan a decade ago, he never expected to fall in love with a woman whose torment was matched only by her dual desires to bring her missing daughter home and reveal the truth of her disappearance, no matter how devastating it may be.

Eve’s fateful first love, John Gallo, seems to hold the key to the mystery of young Bonnie’s fate. With Joe’s life hanging in the balance at the hands of Gallo, justice may never be served — unless CIA agent Catherine Ling, who owes her child’s life to Eve and Joe, can outsmart Gallo at his own game. Emotionally charged with one shock after another, readers discover for the first time how Joe and Eve met and fell in love against a backdrop of haunting tragedy, gaining new insight into the characters they’ve known and become invested in for more than a decade.

Soon to follow: the mind-blowing conclusion to Iris Johansen’s trilogy: Bonnie.
