Romance Historical

Helen Fitzwilliam, former mistress of the Duke of Lister, is fleeing with her children to prevent the duke from taking them from her. Helen wishes to live a respectable life and now faces the duke's threat if she leaves.

Arriving in Scotland incognito as Helen Halifax, she seeks the housekeeper position at Castle Greaves, where she finds a man with a face more beast than human. Sir Alistair Munroe, tagged Sir Beastly, is missing an eye and has a horribly scarred faced incurred during the massacre at Spinners Falls while with the 28th Regiment. Helen has her work cut out convincing the recluse to let them stay. As she sees Alistair's kind soul, she finds herself falling in love with him and engaging in heated sex.

Helen and Alistair are forced to travel to London after the children are kidnapped by the duke. Public appearances are a strain for Alistair, but his fondness for the children overcomes his fear. Along with rescuing the children for Helen, Alistair must finally face his demons about living in the outside world.

I thoroughly enjoyed Elizabeth Hoyt's story of mystery and sensual romance filled with suspense. TO BEGUILE A BEAST is the third book in The Legend of the Four Soldiers series. This again coincides with the story of the Truth Teller. The love scenes are scorching hot and very explicit. The plot kept my interest completely and I found the characters strong and full of warmth. It was again my pleasure to enjoy another book in this series.

SUMMARY

CAN A WOUNDED BEAST . . .

Reclusive Sir Alistair Munroe has hidden in his castle ever since returning from the Colonies, scarred inside and out. But when a mysterious beauty arrives at his door, the passions he's kept suppressed for years begin to awaken.

TRUST A BEAUTY WITH A PAST . . .

Running from past mistakes has taken legendary beauty Helen Fitzwilliam from the luxury of the ton to a crumbling Scottish castle . . . and a job as a housekeeper. Yet Helen is determined to start a new life and she won't let dust-or a beast of a man-scare her away.

TO TAME HIS MOST SECRET DESIRES?

Beneath Helen's beautiful façade, Alistair finds a courageous and sensual woman. A woman who doesn't back away from his surliness-or his scars. But just as he begins to believe in true love, Helen's secret past threatens to tear them apart. Now both Beast and Beauty must fight for the one thing neither believed they could ever find-a happy ever after.
