I haven't read a book with animals in it I didn't love - animals and kids steal my heart every time. Your post gave me a chuckle, Jaime - don't know how attached I could become to a real mouse after all the issues from them infesting our house when I was growing up - coming in from the fields on my parent's farm. However, I feel sure Ounce will steal my heart when I read your novella.
Growing up on a farm, we had many animals/creatures: dogs, cats (wild), chickens (my pet's name was "Ripe")and roosters, mules, hogs and pigs, cattle (beef and milk), horses and ponies, frogs, craw-dads, butterflies, birds, squirrels, deer, wild turkey, fox, and also some I wasn't as fond of (mice, rats, snakes, spiders, bees and wasps, skunks, groundhogs, moles, raccoons, vultures). My children had numerous dogs, as well as hamsters and guinea pigs - while I had rabbits and an aquarium of fish. I now live alone and no longer have any pets - loving to travel and having some mobility issues, it's much better that I don't.
Thanks for the giveaway opportunity - looking forward to reading 'Gold Haven Heiress' and the other novellas in The California Gold Rush Romance Collection!!
Since I've retired & live alone - my time is less planned than it once was. There aren't many tasks that can't wait until tomorrow to be completed - God gave us nature and family to enjoy, life on earth is short. So many things in my life haven't turned out as planned but God has used them all to my good. Leaving my job and family and moving to another state without a job, place to live, or family/friends there - to be a cast member in an on-going Passion Play on the life of Christ was one of the most inspiring years of my life!!
Thanks for the giveaway opportunity - I'd love to read Lark!!
A match, for sure!! I love visiting Amish communities & love the storyline of 'The Courtship Basket' - I've lost a kidney also, due to cancer. Thanks for the post and the giveaway opportunity, Amy!!
My dream has always been to own a cabin on a mountaintop overlooking the ocean, it's hard for me to pick a fave as I love them both so much. I've lived alone for 25+ years now, so my romantic moments were long ago. However, I did honeymoon in the Smokey Mountains!!
Thanks for the fun post, Beth - and the giveaway opportunity!!
I've learned that my family are survivors: one of my ancestors was captured by the Shawnee and became one of their war chiefs, another helped found historic St. Mary's, Maryland, members have served in numerous wars, my maternal grandfather was 100 years old when he passed away, I have survived numerous accidents and am now battling cancer for the 3rd time. Just a few of the incidents from my family history.
I loved watching the Westerns on TV when I was growing up: Hopalong Cassidy, Cisco and the Poncho Kid, Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, Zorro - shows predate a lot of readers, lol. Guess I would have to say my father was my hero while young, God is my "Super Hero" now.
Weight has been an issue for me for many years, and I used to be insecure about it. I know that I would be healthier, and better able to do some things that I currently can not, if I were able to lose weight - but I'm no longer insecure about it.
Thanks for the opportunity to win a copy of Wishing on Buttercups!
Love the story line of Sadie's Secrets, and would love to read all three of the books in The Secret Lives of Will Tuckers series! I, just recently, found out about the use of females at Pinkerton's - the book sounds SO exciting!
I haven't read any of Kathleen's books, and would love to become acquainted with her writing! Thanks for the opportunity to win 3 of her books!
Interesting storyline - would love to read the book, thanks for the opportunity to win a copy. I have witnessed medical miracles & my mind is always open to the possibility of reality in the fiction I read.
Love anything Amish - have been to Amish settlements in Pa. & In., love visiting their farms & roadside stands, shopping for their crafts, & eating their home-cooked meals (one in an Amish home). Thanks for the giveaway opportunity!
