Re: At Hidden Falls (12:48pm January 26, 2011):

Your posts were all so much fun to read. And a lot of you, like me, found your
love of reading through your parents and all those fun trips to the library!
Thanks so much for sharing all your stories!

Re: At Hidden Falls (7:14pm January 25, 2011):

I am loving all the great stories. It's so nice to know how much reading has touched everyone's life.
Even when we get away from it for a while, when we come back, it's like seeing old friends!

Re: At Hidden Falls (2:24pm January 25, 2011):

Joanne - I loved the THORN BIRDS, all that forbidden love ...

Colleen - Believe it or not, my daughter felt like you. She had to read a lot of
boring depressing books for school, and I thought how could I have a
daughter who doesn't like to read? But finally after throwing many books her
way, I think I got her hooked.

Natalie - Thanks for getting the book- Hope you like it!

Re: At Hidden Falls (11:41am January 25, 2011):

Valerie - 6000 books - wow! I'd need a much bigger house!

Everyone - I love reading your memories. As I was writing this blog post, it
really reminded me of what reading does mean to me. And how books have
been so important in my life. I'm a little sad for people who don't read. They
don't think they're missing anything, but I think they might be ...

Re: At Hidden Falls (11:40am January 25, 2011):

Jeanne - The Secret Garden -yes! I loved that book. And Karen, I also grew up
on the Bobbsey Twins and Nancy Drew. Nancy Drew was a great heroine,
intrepid, daring, especially in a time when women were still fighting to be
independent.

Re: In Shelter Cove (12:02pm May 5, 2010):

Thanks for the chat! Hope you'll all check out my two new
books. Happy reading!

Re: In Shelter Cove (4:57pm May 4, 2010):

The black sheep turned hero is also a good one. It's like what makes him reckless and bad can make him reckless and good :-) I love men in uniform, too,
don't get me wrong. I've been reading about those Navy Seals for a long time and loving 'em, but I'm glad so many of you enjoy seeing ordinary guys become
heroes!

Re: In Shelter Cove (11:14am May 4, 2010):

Morning everyone - I like the super
alpha heroes, too, but it's fun to take
an ordinary guy and find the hero in
him. Same with the heroine. I
remember a TV show from a while
back The Scarecrow and Mrs. King
where a suburban woman intercepts a
clue on a train and suddenly gets
caught up in a spy game. That was
fun!

Re: On Shadow Beach (10:19pm April 6, 2010):

It was fun chatting with you all today. Hope you'll check out my Angel's Bay Series. Have a great rest of the week!

Re: On Shadow Beach (4:54pm April 6, 2010):

Interesting how many people like to read the cover blurb and any author quotes. I always, always read the blurb, too. I know how important those can be.
It's also interesting that no one has pointed out any cover elements that instantly turn them off. I think we're an open minded bunch!

Re: On Shadow Beach (1:20pm April 6, 2010):

Hi Cheryl - So glad you liked Suddenly One Summer - you'll be immersed in Angel's Bay the next few weeks!

Mary Anne -- So agree on the headless look - I don't quite get that ... I'm okay with just the legs but somehow when it's the whole body except the
head it's weird!

Michelle -- That's what always happens with trends ... the market gets flooded as every publisher is looking to jump on the bandwagon and it starts to
get more difficult to really figure out which books are good and fit the cover or are just being sold that way to pick up those avid readers ... Right now
it's all about the vamps

Re: On Shadow Beach (11:57am April 6, 2010):

Lena - I know some publishers will not
put a red-haired hero on a cover -- isn't
that funny? But then would you be drawn
to a red-haired hero - it begs the
question ...

Re: On Shadow Beach (11:20am April 6, 2010):

Hi Everyone - It's so nice to be here at
Fresh Fiction today. Thanks for the
warm welcome. I'm happy to hear that
my covers are getting good reviews. I
really love the mix of the small town
look with the coast and the colors that
imply there's a little something going
on in Angel's Bay - LOL - I didn't want
anything too quiet.

Paulette - Yay - So happy you enjoyed
On Shadow Beach. I love writing the
series and hope it can go on for a
while! But there are definitely two
more books coming, one next month!

Rachel - I always have a hard time
categorizing my writing. Don't you
want to say sometimes - it's a novel.
It's funny how publishing has become
so divided into niches and genres.
When most readers just want a really
good book and don't really care if it's
called one thing or another on the
spine.

If there are people on a cover - what
do you think draws you in more, a
hunky hero with the bare chest or the
heroine with the gown falling off her
back -- or is it just the pose? Or do I
even have to ask
