Pixie Noland arrived in Bramble, heartbroken and lost. With the help of her new best friend and her husband, she has become a welcome member of the town and well on her way to the good life she and her son deserve. She feels the new beginning started with THE LAKE HOUSE.
Brogan Rafferty finds himself with a daughter – Shayna who is his niece and only family member left in the world. Having faced many battles as a Navy SEAL he finds he needs help and Pixie is the perfect bundle of life he needs.
THE LAKE HOUSE is the second in the Firefly Summer novels by author Lori Foster. This book features Pixie Noland and Brogan Rafferty. Pixie was introduced in The Guest Cottage and gets her own love story in this one. Brogan is a wounded warrior – in more ways than just as a retired Navy SEAL but as a man who faces a world not always giving or forgiving.
The various characters that make up the town of Bramble add a lot of dialogue and fun to the storyline as well as the amazing feel of a small town that is not filled with nibby or nosey people. This town is one that many people would love to find and live in. It’s one that the people all know each other but are not critical or in your face – which a lot of small towns have that reputation – but it is one where you can count on one another.
THE LAKE HOUSE is a sweet, intense romantic read set in a small town that many of us would love to find and enjoy living in. There are also a number of surprises that come out concerning Pixie’s son Andy and Brogan’s niece/adopted daughter Shayna. But – you will have to read THE LAKE HOUSE to get all the answers.
As fans of Ms. Foster know her writing, they will find that, like many of her offerings, THE LAKE HOUSE is a perfect summer feel–good read!
