Amelia Rivers is a member of the Lost Night Files podcast team who has more than one problem. Besides the fact that she has lost a night to amnesia and very nearly died, now she has a stalker. So as not to add a SHATTERING DAWN to the night files she hires an investigator. She is sure that the stalker has something to do with the shadowy organization that cost her and her two friends their lost nights.
Gideon Sweetwater is a P.I. who has taken different cases but this one he is sure that Amelia is a little off or running a con, but something about her draws him. So, he takes her stalker case. Little does he know that he will soon be drawn into something that even he can’t believe. And paranormal abilities run deep in the Sweetwater family. And after an attempted kidnapping that he is able to stop, he knows he will do whatever it takes to keep her safe.
SHATTERING DAWN is the final of the Lost Night trilogy by author Jayne Ann Krentz and it is the perfect finale. Amelia and Gideon have an immediate attraction to one another but also skepticism runs deep and so does a bit of distrust. You might recognize the Sweetwater name from previous books by Ms. Krentz or one of her pseudonyms as it is a popular name for her paranormal series private investigators and guild bosses.
SHATTERING DAWN is the continued story of the three women who bonded over amnesia, a lost night, near death and finding the truth. Amelia, Talia (The Night Island) and Pallas (Sleep No More) have been searching for answers and finding danger and their perfect matches in this series. Now all six people are looking for the truth and find some very intriguing surprises, which the readers will not be prepared for. The dialogue is always fascinating as it is very useful for the readers to get to know all the characters better and sometimes find hints of the expected and unexpected.
SHATTERING DAWN can be read as a standalone because enough background is given to bring those who have not read the other books up to date. I know once you do read this book, you will want to run out and grab the other two and enjoy them as well.
Jayne Ann Krentz is an author who knows how to tell a story that will have you glued to the pages. Sifting through the twists, turns and surprises while giving you a good, sweet, and often steamy romance. SHATTERING DAWN is the perfect book for a warm blanket, hot drink and fireplace, or if you prefer a sunny beach, either way, I highly recommend anything and everything by this author.
An unsettling investigation teaches two deeply suspicious people how to trust in the next thrilling novel of the Lost Night Files trilogy by New York Times bestselling author Jayne Ann Krentz.
Amelia Rivers, a member of the Lost Night Files podcast team, hires private investigator Gideon Sweetwater to catch the stalker who has been watching her. Amelia suspects the stalker may be connected to the shadowy organization responsible for the night that she and her two friends lost to amnesia—a night that upended their lives and left them with paranormal talents.
Gideon suspects that Amelia is either paranoid or an outright con artist, but he can’t resist the chemistry between them. He takes the case despite his skepticism. For her part, Amelia has second thoughts about the wisdom of employing the mysterious Mr. Sweetwater. She is wary of the powerful attraction between them, and deeply uneasy about the nightmarish paintings on the walls of his home. She senses they were inspired by his own dreamscapes.
Amelia knows she doesn’t have time to find another investigator, and Gideon is forced to reckon with the truth when he disrupts what was intended to be Amelia’s kidnapping. Now the pair is on the run, with no choice but to return to the haunting ruins of the old hotel where Amelia’s lost night occurred. They are desperate to stop a killer and the people who are conducting illegal experiments with a dangerous drug that is designed to enhance psychic abilities. If they are to survive, they will have to trust each other and the passion that bonds them.
