Carmen Hogan is in a bit of a mess. Colgan is a well-grounded writer and she lovingly and humorously describes all the details of the tight-knit community on the Royal Mile around the old bookstore. I particularly enjoy how Colgan affectionately describes Carmen’s family life as well as her work life in the bookshop as she seeks to add more modern features to hopefully improve sales for her boss, the intriguing Mr. McCredie.
Colgan is the author of several other humorous romance novels and I look forward to reading them, now that I have discovered how delightful and engaging her novels are. I don’t want to give away more of the story, however, I can affirm that readers who love romance stories will love this captivating novel and its special Christmas setting!
