HER WOLF FOR THE HOLIDAYS is the seventh book in Terry Spear’s Highland Wolf series. Edeen Campbell recently purchased a new home from the, now departed, previous owner EJ Campbell. Before his death, EJ warned Edeen about her new neighbors, the MacQuarrie clan and how they might pester her about wanting to buy her land. Naturally, this made Edeen wary about the MacQuarries. This might normally be a perfect setup to a classic enemies-to-lovers story, if not for two things. Lachlan MacQuarrie is charming without being aggressive or overconfident, and Edeen has too much common sense. When one of the MacQuarrie dogs, Hercules, pays her an unexpected yet enthusiastic visit, it winds up being the perfect meet-cute.
It's not long after meeting that Edeen realizes that EJ was misguided when it comes to the MacQuarries and they prove to be good neighbors and eventually friends. This is what I consider to be a “sexy cozy” romance. The chemistry is great between the two main characters and there are some steamy moments, but there is more fun in this story than suspense or any drama. This is my favorite type of romance because the hero and heroine work together against a troublemaker that pops up over the course of the book. Edeen jokes about Lachlan rescuing her as a damsel in distress, but she holds her own and confidently blocks the interloper and Lachlan only acts as backup if needed. He’s a strong Scottish hottie, but he also respects Edeen’s strength and self-sufficiency as well. One thing I really liked about the two main characters was how they are both open to romance and trying new things, while also still adulting and look at things from a perspective of practicality. I love how the relationship between Edeen and Lachlan evolves and deepens as the story progresses, and they find happiness together.
HER WOLF FOR THE HOLIDAYS has a couple who heat up the Highlands in a charming tale of love and family. This book, like others in this series, makes Scotland another supporting character, and Terry Spear does an excellent job of conveying a sense of place for the reader. It was great to check in with familiar favorite characters from other books in this story. I’m interested to see if Edeen’s brother Robert finds love in a future book. I look forward to reading Terry Spear’s next scrumptious wolf romance.
Thrilling adventure and sexy holiday fun in the Scottish Highlands.
When a new she-wolf moves in next door, only one alpha wolf can give her everything she wants for Christmas and more.
Edeen Campbell has heard many wild stories about the MacQuarrie clan living in the castle next door to her new home. She is determined that not even Lachlan MacQuarrie, the pack leader's brother, can ruin her holidays, no matter how hard he may try or how intrigued she is by him. But as Lachlan proves to her over and over that he is a wolf to be trusted, Edeen begins to change her mind about the pack and the very handsome wolf dedicated to making her first Highland Christmas a special one.
