Geno Ferraro is the head of the New York Shadow Riders. He has been head of the family since he was thirteen and his parents suddenly removed themselves from the leadership position as well as completely removing themselves from their sons' lives. Now Geno’s parents have been killed--something that should have been nearly impossible because they were still riders. Little did he know that investigating their death would lead him to a SHADOW DANCE that will make him feel alive.
Amaranthe Aubert was also trained by the Archambault as an elite rider and she is also a highly sought-after classical ballet dancer. She was sent to meet Geno and investigate the family's death, but instead of meeting him, Amara finds herself frightened as a woman. They have a less-than-stellar first meeting and it takes everything Geno knows and the help of Stefano and the family to bring her around to be his very own dancer, and his heart and soul.
SHADOW DANCE is the best of author Christine Feehan’s Shadow Rider series! There is a lot of action, family drama, and danger. There is also a good study on a classically trained ballet dancer and a ballerina, which I had no idea there was a difference. Fans who read SHADOW FLIGHT (Taviano and Nicoletta’s story) will find that a major part of the plot follows his plight and what happened to those who had harmed him. And it turns out that it is possible that many others shared the same trauma.
But on top of everything Ms. Feehan offers her readers the romance of Geno and Amara which is off the charts. And though he is also a typical overprotective male he learns quickly that he has to let Amara be who she was trained to be even though it is very much against the grain. Watching his struggle is rather endearing. Amara is thrilled to have a new family with brothers and cousins – even if the brothers keep calling her teeny and tiny. Small she might be but she is lightning fast, very strong, and the hope for the younger brothers to find their perfect mate.
Val, Dario (who gets one over on Stefano, read SHADOW DANCE to find out what he does this time), and Eli are in New York to help the investigation and add to the laughter and family drama. But as always, Ms. Feehan brings it all together. You might be surprised to learn there is a proper etiquette in setting up an elopement, which Gena and Amara are planning to do once the danger is over. You can guess when it comes to the Ferraro family they have other ideas. The Ferraro’s always finds ways to drive one another crazy and give fans a lot to laugh about despite the danger that often times surrounds them.
SHADOW DANCE will enthrall and make you wish it were just a little longer!
