Young Adult | Young Adult Fantasy

Meren's life has never been her own. She is the second daughter, a twin whose only job is to step in when the princess really needs her. But now as the false queen--not by choice but by accident--she still must protect her sister, her people, and bring peace back to her world.

I am usually not a big fan of young adult books, fantasy or otherwise, but I am a fan of author Abigail Owen so I gave her Dominions books a try. They are amazingly well written, with enough attention to detail that allows you to see what is happening and follow along, but not so much that you want to skim the pages. The characters seem a bit more mature, and with what they are going through that is almost necessary for their survival.

There are so many amazing characters in this book that it is impossible to list them all. Many are from the first book and have returned in this one to join in the fight against evil. Willing to follow their queen, false or not, Meren has to continue the fight. Old friends and new allies make up most of her new followers as she fights against the evil king.

THE STOLEN THRONE is well plotted, filled with action, danger, drama, and a good bit of romance... and not just for Meren and her Reven, a Shadowraith. Though Ms. Owen has some work cut out for her with that particular situation... but you'll have to read THE STOLEN THRONE to find out more!

If you enjoy awesome characters and an engaging but easy-to-follow young adult fantasy novel, THE STOLEN THRONE is exactly what you want in your hands. Put aside some time, a cold drink, and enjoy the fantasy that will be before you!

SUMMARY

The hidden princess, now in the clutches of the king, must find a way to stop him—and the Shadowraith she’s fallen for—in the next installment of Abigail Owen’s sprawling, sexy upper YA fantasy.

My twin sister is the true queen of Aryd. She survives, hiding and clinging to life in the desert, while I reign as the false queen alongside the monstrous King Eidolon. There’s only one escape from this gilded prison: Reven. My Shadowraith. My heart. Only the shadows that he struggles to control are growing more sinister, more powerful.

It’s just a matter of time before they turn on him…and on me.

Even escape doesn't mean true freedom, though, when we're still on the run from Eidolon’s unstoppable armies. And when we discover there’s a traitor among us, I have no choice…I must become the queen I was never meant to be.

Because as one evil hunts me, the other loves me more than himself.

And my fate lies with both.
