Mystery Woman Sleuth | Mystery Cozy

In the latest Murder She Wrote Mystery, Jessica is hard at work creating a synopsis for her new mystery novel, when a local art shop owner is found bludgeoned to death in his store with a candlestick.  Jessica, Mort, Seth and British Special Agent Michael Haggerty, must work together to find out who killed the haughty womanizing Nelson Penzell in DEBONAIR IN DEATH.

When local manicurist, Coreen Wilson, finds Nelson’s dead body in his shop La Peinture, she becomes the top suspect in the crime.  Coreen had an appointment with Mr. Nelson at the time of his death and she is covered in blood.   Jessica and salon owner, Loretta Spiegel, know the mild-mannered Coreen could never do such a thing.  Jessica makes sure the young woman has a good lawyer and then embarks on finding the real killer.  There are many secrets to uncover in Cabot Cove related to Mr. Penzell.  Could the killer be an angry business partner, a jilted past lover, a belligerent overbearing yacht owner, or a jealous husband?  When British Special Agent Michael Haggerty shows up in Cabot Cove, Jessica realizes there is more to the mystery than she initially thought.  Michael hints at an international smuggling ring operating in Cabot Cove.  As the stakes get higher, Jessica and her friends must fit together all the pieces and solve the puzzle before Coreen goes down for a crime she did not commit.

The Murder She Wrote Mysteries are expertly crafted and executed.  It is always enjoyable to return to 698 Candlewood Lane and Cabot Cove to catch up with the locals and solve the latest murder in town.  The mystery starts quickly and the suspects keep coming with plenty of motives for killing the duplicitous and debonair Mr. Penzell.  Penzell is a newcomer with a mysterious past, giving him several layers of deceit for Jessica to unravel.  Jessica cleverly interrogates suspects and gathers clues, putting all the pieces together in a logical fashion.  This USA Today bestselling series continues to be engaging with memorable characters and strong storylines.  Terrie Farley Moran, who recently took over writing this series, is doing a fabulous job as DEBONAIR IN DEATH proves to be a winner.  Enjoy a visit back to Cabot Cove!

SUMMARY

When a local art shop owner is murdered, Jessica Fletcher is surprised to once again be working alongside her old friend MI6 agent Michael Haggerty to solve the case in the newest mystery in this USA Today bestselling series.

When Nelson Penzell, co-owner of a shop in downtown Cabot Cove, is murdered, the nail tech from Jessica Fletcher’s favorite beauty parlor is the main suspect. After all, she’s the one who ran out of the store screaming, covered in blood, and holding the murder weapon. Jessica is positive that despite the circumstances, Coreen can’t possibly be guilty, and is determined to prove it.

When Michael Haggerty, handsome MI6 agent and Jessica’s old friend, is caught snooping around the victim’s home, it’s quickly apparent to her that she was right. Nelson has always had a bit of a reputation for being a rake, but Haggerty is sure his sins go far beyond what anyone in town imagined. If she wants to clear Coreen’s name, Jessica will have to work alongside Michael to find out who killed Nelson—and maybe help bust a crime ring in the process.
