When Sienna Murray was 14 her grandmother awoke her and told her she had to run to a neighbors house and help them escape a fire. She did it, but when she tried to tell others how she knew to go there she found out her grandmother had died earlier. She says no more, unable to explain anything to her parents, the police or even herself.
Years later, the same thing happens but this time, Detective Ryder Stapleton just doesn't believe in coincidence. At first, he believes Sienna has something to hide. He cannot imagine that she and he would have so much in common but they do - they both see, hear and talk to dead people. Together they must solve the serial arsonist case - which might well be linked to the fire that involved Sienna so many years ago.
THE UNKNOWN will take you places you will find fun, intriguing, and downright frightening. Author Heather Graham knows how to weave a mystery, add in romance and fit in some history all the while enthralling her readers.
Ryder is about to join the F.B.I. and the Krewe of Hunters, but has this last case to break, with the help of a friend and future colleague Fin Stirling (The Forbidden). He is a very good cop, will make a better agent, and is still figuring out the ghost thing, but as a Krewe member, he will get there.
At first, you understand Sienna's wariness around Ryder, he seems to know more than he says. He doesn't believe in coincidences, but after knowing how she was involved eases his mind, because he is already attracted to her. The small museum she is a curator features a wax figure that in part depicts a number of infamous beings from New Orleans history but it also has a petting zoo and animal sanctuary. Her co-workers on the surface seem rather normal and easy-going but are they really that way? You will have to read THE UNKNOWN to find out.
If you want a mystery that you probably won't be able to solve ahead of the ending, a group of ghosts - especially Sienna's grandmother - who are a lot of fun, a sweet romance, action, and danger then you will want to read THE UNKOWN!
