Thriller Paranormal - Supernatural

After their arduous, but successful assignment in Florida, all Special Agent Armstrong Coldmoon wants to do is get on a plane to Colorado and enjoy time with his people and have a break from his “partner” Special Agent Aloysius Pendergast of the FBI.

They are both beat and had been promised a break … but, in his usual fashion, their boss Assistant Director Pickett has once again diverted them from the promised and expected R & R to take on a new assignment in Savannah, Georgia of all places!  Despite their weariness, why is Pendergast so strangely excited?

Right from their early books in the Pendergast Series (Relic and Still Life with Crows), I have been a Preston & Child fan as each book reads well as a stand alone and can be read in any order. Hard to believe, but BLOODLESS is the 20th in the series and that still holds, although each novel experience is a little richer if others in the series have been previously read.

All of the Preston & Child main characters are absolutely terrific and each new installment reveals a little more of their backstory and interactions with each other. While I had some good laughs as Coldmoon and Pendergast solidify their partnership, I have been especially fascinated by Constance Green, Pendergast’s ward.  She is very beautiful and young, of an undetermined age; yet, with the experience, knowledge and wisdom of a much older woman.  Her part in BLOODLESS is more dramatic and revealing of her history and rapier sharp wit, especially in the scene with the reclusive owner of the antebellum hotel they are staying at in Savannah, Georgia. Constance’s story as well as her interactions with the two FBI agents forms for me one of the best character-driven parts of this fascinating, yet, horror-filled novel.

Right from the introduction in BLOODLESS with the real-life story of D.B. Cooper and his shocking escape to the dramatic and frightening conclusion, there is almost non-stop action, and much to amuse, shock and horrify the reader in BLOODLESS!

If you are thrilled by suspense, stimulating science fiction, gruesome supernatural horror or wonderfully quirky stories, then BLOODLESS by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child is definitely for you!  Trust me!  Lots and lots there for everyone!  So, don’t delay!  Get BLOODLESS today!

SUMMARY

Agent Pendergast faces his most unexpected challenge yet when bloodless bodies begin to appear in Savannah, GA, in this next installment of the #1 NYT bestselling series.   A legendary heist:

On the evening of November 24, 1971, D. B. Cooper hijacked Flight 305 -- Portland to Seattle -- with a fake bomb, collected a ransom of $200,000, and parachuted into the night, never to be seen again... Perhaps.

A brutal crime steeped in malevolence:

Fifty years later, Agent Pendergast takes on a bizarre and gruesome case: in the ghost-haunted city of Savannah, Georgia, bodies are found completely drained of blood--sowing panic and reviving the infamous legend of the Savannah Vampire.

A case like no other in Pendergast's career:

Through twists and turns, Pendergast and his partner, Agent Coldmoon, race to understand how these murders are connected to the most mystifying hijacking in American history. Together, they discover not just the killer-but an unearthly evil beyond all reckoning.
