Murder at Sunrise Lake

Romance Suspense | Suspense Psychological

Stella suffered through really bad dreams, as a four-year-old, of a serial killer - that killer was her father and rather than stop him and protect her daughter, her mother told her to tell no one. That they were only bad dreams and no one would believe her. It just so happened that he was caught and her life as she knew it was over. She received counseling but the one thing she learned best was the lessons from her mother - never tell anyone. She thought it was over, she never expected to "see" a MURDER AT SUNRISE LAKE.

Now the owner and operator of the Sunrise Inn in the Sierra Nevada mountains. Life is good, and has been for a while. She has friends - though she has kept her past a secret - there is one who seems to know exactly what she needs. Little is known about Sam, the handyman, but Stella knows strength and character when she sees it. It is he she will need because she is dreaming again and that means a killer is close by. She has five days to figure out where the killer will hit next and stop him if she can - if she fails someone she cares about might die.

I absolutely loved MURDER AT SUNRISE LAKE! This is a different offering by the amazingly talented Christine Feehan who is very well known for her paranormal, Carpathian and leopard books, but this one will blow readers away. The characters are genuine and realistic, the kind you would like to meet and work with. There are a number of them who are hiding or dealing with something as she has been, and when she admits to them that she is the daughter of a serial killer, they chide her for fearing they would turn away from her. When this happens it awakens something inside her that she thought was long gone - hope.

The intensity of MURDER AT SUNRISE LAKE will grab you from the first page to the surprising ending. I loved Sam and had guessed that his past was one of secrecy, but that he is one of the good ones. Stella never realized that Sam had set his sights on her from the day he first saw her. For two years he waited, watched over her and planned. He knows a thing or two about protection and he will protect his love with everything he has - calling in favors from his "ghostly" past if necessary. A very protective, very patient, and very determined man.

If you like slow moving (until it explodes off the pages) romance, a cast of characters that will intrigue and entertain you, secrets, tension, danger and surprises then you have to get your hands on MURDER AT SUNRISE LAKE. I suggest you do yourself a favor and set aside plenty of time for reading as MURDER AT SUNRISE LAKE will hold you hostage until the last page.

SUMMARY

It starts in her dreams. Hideous flashes from a nightmare only she can stop. Images of a murderer stalking the ones she cares about most....

Stella Harrison thought she got away from the traumas of her past. Running the Sunrise Lake resort high in the Sierra Nevada mountains has brought her peace, even though she doesn't truly share her quiet life with anyone. Not even Sam, the hired handyman that notices everything and always seems to know exactly what she needs.

Stella doesn't know anything about Sam's past, but somehow over the last two years his slow, steady presence has slipped past her defenses. Still, she knows she can't tell him about her recent premonitions. So far there's been no murder. No body. No way to prove what's about to happen without destroying the life she's built for herself.
But a killer is out there.

And Stella knows that this time she'll do whatever it takes to stop him.
