Dreaming Death

Romance Paranormal | Romance Suspense

It amazes me whenever an author has a long running series (DREAMING DEATH is Heather Graham's Krewe of Hunters #32) how they can find new ideas and keep the excitement going. Still have no idea how they do it but Ms. Graham does it spectacularly each time.

Stacey Hanson was a child when she first began to have strange dreams and more often than not they came true. Luckily she found someone who believed her and in her unusual ability. It was Adam Harrison, head of the Krewe of Hunters, who is brought in by her counselor. He believed her, saved her parents and gave her a goal. She immediately joined the F.B.I. and the Krewe after college.

A serial killer, who seems to be imitating Jack the Ripper, is killing women in D.C. and this is Stacey's rookie case - she saw the latest victim in her dream. Agent Keenan Wallace, isn't thrilled to be partnered with a fresh out of the academy rookie but he is soon more than happy to have this dreamer by his side. The killer has his eyes on Stacey and Keenan isn't about to let anything happen to her, no matter what it takes. Readers will really enjoy watching this couple get to know each other as Keenan eventually begins to joke about the best rookie partner ever and appreciating being brought together by their matchmaking boss.

DREAMING DEATH is a fascinating read. There is no way to get ahead of the story and if you think you know where Ms. Graham is going to take you - think again. The storyline follows the case of the Ripper, the past that Stacey and Keenan shared briefly when she was a teen (he was the rookie on the case she dreamed of some friends in danger and called Adam), the culmination of hours of work and a little romance mixed in leads readers to an explosive and completely astonishing ending.

If you enjoy a bit of history of a city with a recounting of the terrible deeds of Jack the Ripper, action, danger, intrigue, a sweet romance and a shocking ending then DREAMING DEATH will offer you all that and much more.

SUMMARY

SWEET DREAMS AREN’T MADE OF THIS

Ever since she was a child, Stacey Hanson has had strange dreams—and sometimes they come true. Her skills and experience led her straight to the FBI’s Krewe of Hunters. Now a serial killer is stalking Washington, DC, and people are scared. And it will be Stacey’s first case.

Special Agent Keenan Wallace isn’t exactly thrilled to be teamed up with a rookie, but they’re going to have to get past their mutual friction if they want to stop a brutal killer. The victims are all vulnerable women, though the clues lead to suspects from DC’s powerful elite. Stacey can’t escape her nightly visions, but in trying to prevent them from occurring in real life, she might come face-to-face with a nightmare.
