First and foremost I have to say that creativeness abounds in this book. When you start reading you instantly get my opening comment. THE MOON GLOW SISTERS is the newest art piece created by Lori Wilde who is an unabashedly master artist when it comes to character development. The characters in THE MOON GLOW SISTERS will at times take you aback and other times make you laugh aloud. Creative use of the art of quilting and sewing provides the opening remark of each chapter, a kind of introduction to that chapter. And when you realize Lori Wilde is using that to describe the sisters and their relationship you know you’ve met genius.

The Moonglow sisters are amass with creativity in their play as children and now as adult women. Brought up by Grammy and her best friend after the death of their parents the three sisters led an almost idyllic life at the beach. Grammy let the girls fly like the wind. She gave them freedom to follow their dreams. And it was those dreams that in part caused these inseparable siblings to fracture.

You might say the undercurrent theme is secrets but I would like to point out a parallel one. That of bridges. Actually building bridges. Not sure why that popped into my head but it is there in THE MOON GLOW SISTERS. The need to construct or in this case rebuild bridges to reconnect with the people that should be most important in your life. The Clark sisters, who were known as the Moonglow sisters did an admiral job of supporting each other when their parents suddenly died and found themselves in the custody of a grandmother they thought was dead. Their mother never spoke of her mother. Their chasm was too great. They never got the chance to rebuild their bridge and reconnect.

But the three sisters had a lovely childhood with their Grammy. With one brutal thoughtless moment their closeness shattered. And now many years later they all have a choice to make. A conscious decision to mend fences or once again go their separate ways. Each sister is so much better if that isn’t the case. They need each other. And Grammy is doing all she can to direct that outcome.

Pride is often at the center of personal disputes and in THE MOON GLOW SISTERS it is quite evident. The three sisters Maddie, Shelley and Gia have decidedly different personalities. And when chaos prevailed at the Clark home each went their own way. Maddie has a successful career as a television chef with her own show. Gia has developed her love of kites into a creatively rewarding means of support. And then there is Shelley who has been MIA for many years. All three are going to have to face each other and come to grips with the events that splintered their relationship.

So it may seem as if I am being rather vague with the storyline of THE MOON GLOW SISTERS by Lori Wilde. And that is on purpose. Lori Wilde has once again created a cast of characters that will capture your attention and a place in your heart. THE MOON GLOW SISTERS is a difficult book to put down. So be prepared.

SUMMARY

It’s Jill Shalvis meets Susan Mallery in this gorgeous novel by New York Times bestselling author Lori Wilde about three sisters, one small town, a wedding, and the summer that changes everything.

Welcome to Moonglow Cove, Texas, a place where your neighbors know your name and the gentle waves of the Gulf of Mexico lap lazily against the sands. It’s a magical spot, especially in the summertime…

Once the town was the home of the Clark sisters—brought up by their grandmother at the Moonglow Inn. Nicknamed “The Moonglow Sisters”, as children they were inseparable.  Then, a wedding-day betrayal tore them apart and they scattered across the globe and away from each other.  But the sisters have at last come home…

There’s Maddie: smart, sensible, and stubborn. Shelley, who ran off to find her bliss. And Gia, a free-spirit determined to keep the peace. It’s her impending wedding that keeps them together…but Gia has a secret, and when her sisters find out all heck is going to break loose!

The Moonglow Sisters continues Lori Wilde’s trademark storytelling to create an unforgettable novel of family, betrayal, love, and second chances.
