Romance Holiday

THE MATCHMAKER’S MISTLETOE MISSION introduces Jaci Burton’s “Boots and Bouquets” contemporary romance series. This book is just so much fun from start to finish. Red Moss Vineyard, run by the congenial Bellini family, makes a gorgeous backdrop for a wedding, which is why Alice Weatherford is there – to finalize arrangements for her BFF’s upcoming wedding. For Alice’s love life, timing is everything. A freak snowstorm (and who doesn’t love those in romances?) lands her in close quarters with hot rancher Clay Henry. Sigh.

Alice Weatherford is a professional matchmaker who is successful at making matches for everyone except herself. Meeting Clay when she does strikes her as being the best and worst thing ever. On one hand, Clay seems to be everything she could ever want but, having been burned before by the prospect of a long-distance romance, geography seems like an insurmountable obstacle to their potential involvement. In addition to simple logistics, Alice seems to have some kind of ethical or professional objection to becoming involved with Clay – which I don’t quite understand, but it doesn’t interfere with my overall enjoyment of the story. THE MATCHMAKER’S MISTLETOE MISSION is told from alternating perspectives, which is helpful considering that Alice tries to act contrary to what she’s feeling. Despite Alice’s slightly convoluted reasoning, I liked both main characters and I really enjoyed their love story. Winter in Oklahoma and Christmas fun was a delightful backdrop to two people meeting and falling in love. Clay is a total sweetie – rugged, attractive, and a sensitive soul who pursues a woman but knows when to give her some space.

THE MATCHMAKER’S MISTLETOE MISSION is a sweet and sexy Christmas confection suitable for devouring any time of the year. The supporting character’s in THE MATCHMAKER’S MISTLETOE MISSION are wonderful and I look forward to reading more about the Bellini sisters in future books. I eagerly await Jaci Burton’s next book.

SUMMARY

New York Times bestselling author Jaci Burton celebrates the gift of love and the holiday season with a snowy Christmas wedding at the Bellini family vineyard.

Stranded at the Red Moss Vineyard a week before her best friend's wedding, LA native and professional matchmaker Alice Weatherford is not pleased with her first trip to Oklahoma, or the epic snowstorm forcing her to stay. So much for Christmas cheer. What she needs is a project, something to distract her...and, oh, has she found one in neighboring rancher Clay Henry. Gorgeous, charming, and unlike any other man she's ever met, finding the right woman for Clay should be easy....

Having grown up with the Bellini sisters, it's no hardship for Clay to ride out the storm at their cozy family vineyard, especially since that means spending time with their savvy and smart houseguest. But despite Alice’s best efforts, he's not the least bit interested in her matchmaking....

Alice is the only woman Clay wants. Now he just has to convince the matchmaker herself to give love a chance.
