Welcome to TO CATCH A TEXAS STAR, the final chapter of Linda Broday's Texas Hero series. Each book has been a joy to read and review. I was delighted to visit with characters from the previous books in the series, as well as read the story of Marley Rose McClain and Roan Perry.
Roan Perry understood these things better than most. His mother died when he was young, and his father had no idea what to do with a son, so he was given to Old Widow Harper to take care of him. As a grown man, Roan once again witnessed the worst of humanity. When his friend Mose was killed and Roan was dragged and left for dead, he was certain his life was over before he had a chance to prove to his father that he was worth something. But as long as you are breathing there is always hope. Hope for Roan came in the pretty package of Marley Rose. The McClains have been taking people in for years, and while Marley has been taught how to nurse people back to help, she is completely unprepared for the horrid condition of Roan.
On the McClain ranch, Aces n Eights, kindness is the motto. After Roan heals from his injuries, he's set on taking revenge on the men who murdered his friend. But something he never expected to experience happens: Marley. But Roan thinks he isn't good enough for Marley, even though she may be the only thing that will truly save him. And when danger comes to McClain ranch, Roan knows he has to do whatever it takes to save his Texas star...
Linda Broday likes to showcase truly interesting in her stories and TO CATCH A TEXAS STAR is no different, with a huge cast of memorable characters. TO CATCH A TEXAS STAR brings a satisfying end to this series which was truly enjoyable from beginning to end. Each does stand-alone, but they all are so special in their own way.
