Author Heather Graham brings back her "Krewe of Hunters" in
this action packed, sweetly romantic release.
Charlene "Charlie" Moreau is working on a movie back home
in Louisiana. She enjoys being home again until she
stumbles over the body of one of the Civil War re-enactors
sending everyone into the DARKEST JOURNEY they would ever
experience. But it also brings back someone from her past
which might mean a second chance.
Ethan Delaney is a new member of the F.B.I.'s Krewe, but he
remembers Charlie very well. She has been a part of him
since the day he rescued her from a graveyard prank that
almost went very wrong when they were still in school. She
still believes a ghost sent him to rescue her.
In the present they work together to solve the mystery that
leads them to the Mississippi cruise ship captained by
Charlie's father. Being together again brings a lot of
things left unsaid all those years ago, and leads to
something much stronger than either of them ever imagined.
DARKEST JOURNEY is a riveting mystery with a good dose of
sweet romance. I loved the twists and turns author Heather
Graham loves to throw the readers way. Just when
you think you have the answer, something always throws you
off. I was never too keen on ghost stories, but these books
seem to give a much deeper story with the addition of the
ghostly visitors and the look into their history. I have
found myself looking up some of the tidbits of history to
learn more. Having read a number of books of the Krewe I
noticed that Graham has added more depth to the
romantic side of the story in the more recent books,
something that I appreciate. If you are in the market for
a good mystery, interesting history, sweet romance with a
second chance at love then DARKEST JOURNEY is the
book you want to read.
They say it's about the journey, not the destination… Charlene "Charlie" Moreau is back in St. Francisville, Louisiana, to work on a movie. One night, she stumbles across the body of a Civil War reenactor, the second murdered in two days. Charlie is shocked to learn that her father-a guide on the Journey, a historic paddle wheeler that's sponsoring the reenactment-is a suspect. Meanwhile, Ethan Delaney, new to the FBI's Krewe of Hunters, is brought in on the case. He and Charlie have a history of their own, dating back to when he rescued her from a graveyard-led there by a Confederate ghost! Charlie arranges a Mississippi River cruise so she and Ethan can get close to the reenactors, find out who knows what, who has a motive. They discover a lot more as they resume the relationship that ended ten years ago…but might die, along with them, on the Journey.
