Taryn is marrying the man of her dreams, Jeff. Jeff has
a daughter Taryn adores, and they are going to make a
great family. Jeff is also about to sell the business
he started with his best friend Paul, and Jeff and Taryn will become
wealthy. Things seem to be going along smoothly until Jeff's ex's comes back into
the picture. Shannon was a drug addict and left
Jeff when their daughter Olivia was only a baby. Taryn
plans to adopt Olivia once they are married, but now
Shannon has returned and is seeking time with her
daughter. Taryn doesn't trust Shannon since she has caught her lying
about her life. Shannon claims she is not married
and has given up drugs, but Taryn finds out Shannon is
still married, and she has a hunch about the drug use. Shannon's husband Kid wants Shannon to get close to her
daughter so they can get part of the money Jeff
is going to get for selling his business. While Shannon
really only wants to get to know her daughter, she has no
choice but to go along with what Kid wants. Every time
Shannon tries to go against Kid, he beats her. Shannon
feels there is no way out of her situation. Taryn is trying to hold her life together, but for one
step forward, she runs two steps back.
Does Taryn have to choose Jeff or a life without
him? Kris Jayne gets to the heart of the matter. In her way
Kris has two couples, one who truly loves each other and
the other locked in a heartless romance. Both stories are
very deep. I am sure in a lot of relationships,
there are ex's who only want one thing...the other's money. While we find
Taryn and Jeff are truly in love, they have to
really hang on to that love. Kris Jayne equally tells both sides of the story. We see
how Jeff is truly devoted to Taryn, but he wants what is best
for his daughter. Turning away Shannon is not what he
feels is best for Olivia. CHOOSING YOU is the first book I have read by
Kris Jayne. Now on to CHERISHING YOU, the next one in the Thirsty
Hearts series.
This is Shannon's story, her new life, love and whatever
comes next for her. I love CHOOSING YOU! Kris Jayne is a
great romance writer.

Taryn’s instincts tell her Shannon Nelson is an unreliable, scheming opportunist. Jeff’s compassion compels him to find a way for Olivia to reconnect with her biological mother.
Conflict, mistrust, and danger follow as Taryn and Jeff try to hang on to the love that brought them together and make it down the aisle.
