This is a great story about two people are clearly perfect for each other but have a boatload of baggage to get through first. Chase and Hope met ages ago and had a torrid affair which concluded with her moving to Canada and Chase moving to Texas to be at their respective family ranches. When we pick up our story, Hope is a world renowned animal insemination expert who Chase and his family have hired to expand their animal population. He had no idea he was hiring the woman of his dreams and memories, and she didn't know the job she accepted was to do with the dude who still holds her heart after all these years. Add in a secret she's been keeping from him (and long-time romance readers can probably guess said secret!) and the sparks which happen immediately certainly have barriers to overcome!

I'm hit and miss on cowboy stories. They can be excellent and make me feel the need to take a holiday to Montana stat or feel so retrograde that I may as well be watching Beach Blanket Bingo for all the authenticity in the story. COWBOY TAKE ME AWAY thankfully falls into the "let's go on holiday there now" camp. I enjoyed the feel of the book; how the characters interacted with each other, how they made things happen and navigated their worlds. I loved getting to know the extended cast of characters and as the two main folks moved towards solidifying their happily-ever-after, I loved how the other people fit into that world and weren't excluded from it.

COWBOY TAKE ME AWAY is recommended for any folks who love second chance stories with secret complications thrown in, stories about hard working men and ladies who are good at their jobs, and love stories that conquer tons of miscommunications.
