Who is ready for a good scare? SEIZE THE NIGHT: NEW TALES OF VAMPIRIC TERROR will cause you to shiver. These stories are not about your romanticized and lovable vampires that are here to sweep you off your feet. These vampires are the ones you run from, the scary things you hide from at night. I do love a romantic vampire but horror is my first love. The scarier the monster the better, and these authors deliver.

I found myself enjoying each new world that I was thrust into. Each of these authors know how to write a great story that reels you in and grabs your attention. There are so many of my favorite authors included in this anthology. I was quickly lost in each new story and its characters. This is one anthology that will make you think twice about the dark.

Of course with many of my usual authors contributing there were a few stories that I enjoyed more but on a whole this collection was a great read. I enjoyed the fact that it was going back to vampire roots and giving us a thrill instead of a flowers and romance read. This is a good book to snuggle up under the covers. Some stories are scarier than others, but each will immerse you into the story and characters. This collection brings back the scary in the vampire world. There have always been vampire tales all over the world, and until recently they have been ones that make you stay inside at night. This anthology brings readers back into that mode.

I enjoyed each of my visits to the new worlds in these stories. Some were fun and some made me turn on all the lights. The characters were full of depth and the authors did such a good job of building the atmosphere that I quickly got lost in the stories, reminding this reader to be afraid of what goes bump in the night.

SUMMARY

A blockbuster anthology of original, blood-curdling vampire fiction from New York Times bestselling and award-winning authors, including Charlaine Harris, whose novels were adapted into HBO's hit show True Blood, and Scott Smith, publishing his first work since The Ruins.

Before being transformed into romantic heroes and soft, emotional antiheroes, vampires were figures of overwhelming terror. Now, from some of the biggest names in horror and dark fiction, comes this stellar collection of short stories that make vampires frightening once again. Edited by New York Times bestselling author Christopher Golden and featuring all-new stories from such contributors as Charlaine Harris, John Ajvide Lindqvist, Scott Smith, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Michael Kortya, Kelley Armstrong, Brian Keene, David Wellington, Seanan McGuire, and Tim Lebbon, Seize the Night is old-school vampire fiction at its finest.
