ALL WOUND UP is Book 10 in Jaci Burton's Play-by-Play
series. ALL WOUND UP focuses on the St. Louis Rivers
baseball team -- the players and the management. I love
how ALL WOUND UP is very much a character-driven story.
Most of the conflict comes from the internal debate
inside the minds of the hero and heroine. I believe
readers new to the Play-by-Play series can still read
and enjoy ALL WOUND UP.
It's impossible to resist Tucker Cassidy's appeal. He has
the sexy swagger of a professional athlete, but his Clark
Kent glasses and easygoing, sweetness, and charm make him
amazing. I like that Tucker projects confidence without
it appearing to be obnoxious arrogance. Over the course
of ALL WOUND UP, it's obvious that his large, tight-knit
family keeps him grounded. I loved the interactions
between Tucker and his brothers. These family scenes add
humor and lighten tension.
I love the flirty courtship between Tucker and Dr. Aubry
Ross. Despite their best intentions, and inauspicious
first meeting, they slowly fall for each other. Aubry is
very likable and I really liked that she is able to see
how skewed her father's view of her personal life is. She
is not somebody to be easily manipulated and she doesn't
seem insecure. I love the chemistry between Tucker and
Aubry. The fun, light, romantic moments like their
cooking class add another layer of charm to ALL WOUND UP.
The passion is red-hot and never lets up.
ALL WOUND UP is a home run -- sexy, fun, and great
characters! I love stories like ALL WOUND UP that can
take a "nice guy" hero and keep him sexy without being
boring. I hope to read more about Tucker's brothers in
future books, as well as perhaps Aubry's best friend
Katie. I love characters with a good sense of humor and
Katie's quick wit added to my overall enjoyment of ALL
WOUND UP. I look forward to reading more stories in Jaci
Burton's Play-by-Play series.
In the latest Play-by-Play novel from the New York Times
bestselling author of Quarterback Draw, a sexy baseball
player is done striking out...
Tucker Cassidy is going through a slump—both with his
curveball and in his dating life. After having a painful
altercation involving his ex-girlfriend’s knee, the
professional baseball player is convinced things couldn’t
get worse…until a gorgeous doctor comes to the rescue at his
most embarrassing moment.
As the daughter of the owner of the St. Louis Rivers major
league baseball team, Dr. Aubry Ross has been around jocks
all her life. She knows the ins and outs of all their games,
and she isn’t interested in playing.
When Tucker repeatedly lands in the hospital where she’s
working, Aubry starts to think he’s getting injured just to
see her. Tucker is both funny and sexy, and Aubry is
pleasantly surprised to discover he actually respects her job.
But when her father disapproves of their relationship, will
Tucker let threats of a trade get in the way of a
game-changing love?
I too love this series. This installment was soo good. Tucker's as an Alpha male and finding love with Dr. Aubry Ross was fun as they realized that they really liked each other, but of course her father, owner of the baseball team that Tucker played on, made this love match very complicated.
Loved your review. (Janna Rhodes 9:09am August 11, 2015)
