Zac Montclair's first priority is his people. And in light
of recent troubles he has agreed to an alliance between his
polar bears and the Shadowcat Nation of cougar shifters.
With this treaty comes a condition he must accept one of
their seers into his Timik. It is SARAI'S FORTUNE to be
made a part of his Timik, under his personal protection. It
won't be easy for him because even if she barely looks at
him he sees that she is what he wants. Seer, cougar shifter
... doesn't matter ... she will be his.
Sarai Bouchard has been living on borrowed time with the
Keller Dare and knows that soon she will have to leave. She
knows that her past alpha's son is still out there and
still obsessed by her. She isn't a warrior, but must learn
a way to defend herself from that obsession. She doesn't
dislike Zac ... far from it ... she has seen visions that
reveal they will be lovers and also that that will lead to
his death. She has also seen that if she doesnt go to him
... it will be her death.
SARAI'S FORTUNE is the sexy, sweet, action packed book two
of the Shadowcat Nation series by Abigail Owen. This
book
puts us right back into the cougar's world
where Andromeda's Fall left off and did not miss a beat.
Sarai's life had been torturous in the old Carstairs Dare
and it was Andromeda (Andie) who helped remove part of the
threat but Sarai knows there is more to come.
I thought it interesting that though she is a cougar
shifter, she wasn't much of a fighter, because her gift
messes with her ability to fight. That was something she
and Zac worked with and her new warrior way certainly comes
in handy ... but you will have to read the book to find out
what they did. Zac himself in human form is almost seven
feet tall, in bear even bigger, but he is also intelligent,
protective and rather happy cuddling with the little woman
who has easily stolen his heart.
SARAI'S FORTUNE is a book you will
not put down; I read it in one sitting and still didn't
want it to end. I hope Ms. Owen has a few more of these up
her sleeve because I have room on my shelves for more.
SUMMARY
Zac Montclair's first priority is to protect his people.
With the escalating war between factions of shifters over
land and resources, he has agreed to an alliance between his
polar bears and the Shadowcat Nation of cougar shifters. But
the treaty comes with a condition...he must accept one of
their Seers into his Timik and put her under his personal
protection. Sarai Bouchard doesn't need her supernatural gift to know
that Kyle Carstairs's obsession with controlling her ability
will eventually result in her misery and demise. Her power
is essential to her people's survival, so when Kyle goes
rogue, she's sent to Zac Montclair to keep her safe.
However, her visions reveal that while staying will lead to
their becoming lovers, it also leads to his death. Leaving
Zac will result in her own. If Sarai can't find a way to change the future, she will be
forced to choose...save her lover or save herself.
