You know that expression "a team of wild horses couldn't
drive me away." Sure one of the main characters tames
wild mustangs but I'm convinced B.J. Daniels had a
creative reason for this title -- or at least an equally
strong one. In many ways WILD HORSES is a story about
resilience. Fighting your way through a myriad of
problems hopefully with a happy ending to look forward
to.
Page after page in WILD HORSES Daniels brings us further
into what has become a harrowing nightmare -- with a life
of its own. A nightmare of events -- that at first glance
seem random -- innocuous -- but upon further investigation
that couldn't be further from the truth. WILD HORSES is a
labyrinth of a tale spanning many years of the Hamilton
family.
Describing WILD HORSES as a western romantic suspense is
limiting the true spectrum of its genius. Daniels fills
each part of WILD HORSES with just enough clues that will
have the best investigative reader coming up with a list
of suspects. But when Daniels starts to truly connect the
dots she has your head spinning. Sure good people do bad
things but just how far would a person go to fulfill
their wishes of fame and fortune. And let's not forget
the age old problem of looking for love and the ever
present love triangle -- whether real or imagined.
WILD HORSES immediately sets the tone for the fast paced
story to follow. Olivia Hamilton makes a mistake. Her
usual reasonability is short circuited by her irritation
with her fiancé Cooper Barnett. This one mistake is going
to be life altering affecting not only her relationship
with Cooper but with the rest of the Hamilton family
which includes her five sister, her father and his wife.
Olivia's mother had been declared dead years ago. Her
father is on the fast track to becoming a candidate for
presidency with the assistance of his efficient
politically charged second wife.
The Hamilton sisters have somehow managed to endure the
sudden death of their young mother and has pulled
together as a group to cope with a missing mother, a busy
father and a rather bitchy stepmother.
As we watch Olivia try to piece through her experience of
that terrible night it becomes rather apparent that there
is a much larger, more dangerous force at play. One of
the problems is trying to determine the actual target
along with pointing a finger at the real culprit or
culprits. To make matters worse Cooper is having
difficulties of his own coming to grips with his
relationship with Olivia. To the naked eye Cooper is not
at all in the same league with Olivia and her rich
family. But Cooper and Olivia are in love. Can their love
help them get passed all these barriers to their wish for
happily ever after?
WILD HORSES by B.J. Daniels is the first in her new
series The Montana Hamilton's. WILD HORSES is in short
great and should definitely be on your must read. I have
already put this series on my must read list. I am
already a fan of B.J. Daniels having read many of her
books. WILD HORSES is by far the best of the bunch and if
the rest of the series follows the lead of this first of
the series than we are in for a treat. WILD HORSES should
definitely be on the must read list for Daniels fans and
a great introduction for new readers to this amazing
author.
