One Wish is book seven in the Thunder Point series.
Grace Dillon used to be a world famous figure skater. She turned her back on all of that when she turned twenty-three and settled down in Thunder Point. She runs the flower shop in town and no one knows who she used to be except for Jake who owns the ice skating rink. He lets Grace skate before the rink opens and she pays him for it as long as he doesn't give her secret away. Grace just wants to be unrecognized and be normal like everyone else.
ONE WISH is the story of how Grace gets a fun coach. Troy, a teacher at the high school thinks Grace works too much and decides he is going to put some fun into her life. He takes her out to do different things, things she would never try on her own. Grace and Troy come to an agreement that they will just be friends, no commitment, no strings. Well, you can only imagine how this is going to work it right? The scene where Troy is standing on a cliff and a rogue wave nails him, leads to some of the funniest reading I have done in a long time! I felt like I was right there, giggling away with Grace when she comes out of the souvenir who and sees the police officer!
Troy has been chasing after Iris for a long time. Iris is the guidance counselor at the high school and one of Grace's closest friends. So Grace knows it's friends and nothing else with him. She thinks Troy's cute but still hung up on Iris, but Iris is married now (to town deputy Seth) and Troy's starting to realize that it's not healthy to pine for Iris. He's now looking at Grace in a new light. And he likes what he sees. But he knows Grace is hiding something about herself, but what is it? When he finds out, will he be able to deal with it? Will both of them be able to get past it?
I've always loved reading Robyn Carr's novels and ONE WISH is the perfect way to spend the day. Just me, a big cup of coffee, and my couch, visiting my old friends in Thunder Point. It was great catching up with the other residents from previous Thunder Point books. Robyn Carr is an awesome storyteller and I have loved every one of her books that I have read. Thunder Point always makes me feel like I'm back home and catching up with friends.
