Claire Lindell is traveling from New York City where she
is a teacher,
planning a quiet Christmas getaway in Ledstow, England at
her
Godmother's cottage. Claire simply cannot stand the
thought of spending
another perfect holiday with her perfect family when she
doesn't feel
perfect herself. Just ending a disastrous affair with the
married father of a
student, she is filled with guilt and remorse, even though
he lied that his
marriage was an unhappy one.
Landing in the ditch and snow two miles from Ledstow,
she has only one
option; to walk the rest of the way in the blizzard to
town. When a series
of swearing reaches her ears, she finds a bundled up man
fighting to free
his ewe from the ice and water. Offering help not only
ruins her new
Prada leather boots, but also threatens her quiet getaway.
Ending up at
Noah Bradford's Ayesgill Farm to reorganize and warm up,
is she ever
surprise that the stranger isn't an old man, but a "HOT"
young man with a
body she can't remove her eyes from. Noah has a history
and with it an eigt
year old daughter, Molly, whom he seldom sees. Dumped by
her mother,
Dani, for four days he seeks help from Claire to give his
daughter a real
special Christmas and finds it special for he and Claire
as well.
A YORKSHIRE CHRISTMAS is a Christmas Around the
World Novella. Two lonely
people seeking solitude find that the world has better
offers, especially at
Christmastime. I thoroughly enjoyed this short story and
will strive to
read more of these novellas. Kate Hewitt is very talented
in giving the
reader the romance and emotional fulfillment for this man
and woman as
well as a deserving child. I know that I will search for
more works by this
author in the future.
