SNOW ANGEL COVE by RaeAnne Thayne starts with a highly
improbable premise and has you thinking just how can this
possibly end. How can you get a happy ending with a
beginning like this one. Well it takes a great deal of
imagination, and courage and if you ask me just the kind
of writing one expects from RaeAnne Thayne.
How do you ever get to love after getting practically run
down by the guy? Just how needy are you to get yourself
tied to the guy much less work for the very man who could
have killed you - well that is a stretch but you get the
idea. Not to mention this is the man you believe in your
heart drove your now deceased husband to drink and drive.
How do you get from that point to a place where you begin
to see this man clearly in fact probably clearer than
anyone else including his large and close knit family?
It's magic and its love and it's simple.
Aiden puts together puzzles in his work as a computer
programming genius whose life is spent in front of a
laptop. He likes and respects plans. But life doesn't
always go according to anyone's plan. And that's when
guys like Aidan need someone to help them get out of
their rut.
Enter Eliza and Maddie; certainly someone had a good
sense of humor throwing these people together. Truly not
a match by any stretch of the imagination. And yet they
fit. Each was looking for help - not talking about pity
or charity, but help, love and belonging. Family is
important and for someone lacking that -- well just
enjoying a brief time surrounded by a family is a dream
come true. This is the strange predicament Eliza and
Maddie find themselves in and is the best Christmas gift.
But the bubble could burst. Life does not come with
guarantees. Eliza has learned to make lemonade from
lemons. She turns an unexpected disaster into a
possibility for some joy, happiness and security even if
for a short time. Aidan is a wealthy, successful
businessman whose life took a rather odd turn and was
going to learn some very important lessons about love and
life. Aidan's teachers are a single struggling mother and
her young daughter.
SNOW ANGEL COVE by RaeAnne Thayne is about belonging -
family, friendship, community - belonging and finding
your place. Life is full of surprises and challenges --
some small, others huge -- basically life changing. How we
measure up to these challenges determine ultimately the
kind of person we are. But even so we sometimes fall
short of expectations -- our own and others. You might
think RaeAnne Thayne took a lot of liberties -- or one
could call it poetic license in this story SNOW ANGEL
COVE but I like to think she followed her heart.
SNOW ANGEL COVE is a story about strength and hope. The
theme could be how to keep hope alive even when life gets
beyond complicated. The Christmas season is supposed to
be about possibilities. Perhaps with an added amount of
fate thrown in.
RaeAnne Thayne's characters have enormous strength and
possess gifts of all kinds. In the season of giving SNOW
ANGEL COVE shows us so many ways to give to others. The
greatest gift is of course love and there is lots of love
going around in Angel Cove. SNOW ANGEL COVE was my
introduction to RaeAnne Thayne and she now has a place on
my must reads.
New York Times bestselling author RaeAnne Thayne welcomes
you to Haven Point, a small town full of big surprises
that
are both merry and bright
Nothing short of a miracle can restore Eliza Hayward's
Christmas cheer. The job she pinned her dreams on has gone
up in smoke—literally—and now she's stuck in an
unfamiliar,
if breathtaking, small town. Precariously close to being
destitute, Eliza needs a hero, but she's not expecting one
who almost runs her down with his car!
Rescuing Eliza is pure instinct for tech genius Aidan
Caine.
At first, putting the renovation of his lakeside guest
lodge
in Eliza's hands assuages his guilt—until he sees how
quickly he could fall for her. Having focused solely on
his
business for years, he never knew what his life was
missing
before Eliza, but now he's willing to risk his heart on a
yuletide romance that could lead to forever.
