OUR FIRST CHRISTMAS is a wonderful anthology of four stories by four of today's hottest authors. It will put you in the Christmas spirit no matter what time of year you read it.
A Ranger For Christmas by Mary Burton introduces you to Professor Marisa Thompson. Texas Ranger Lucas Cooper has tracked her down at the college and needs her help. He is working on a drug case and needs her to try and figure out the code the drug dealers are using for communications. While trying to decipher the code someone tries to break into her home and runs her off the road. This is an awesome story filled with lots of action and mystery. You won't be able to read it fast enough!
A Southern Christmas by Mary Carter is the story of Nate and Dani. Two years ago, Nate asked Dani to marry him, in front of the whole town, after creating the perfect moment and Dani said no. She wasn't ready. She wanted to go to New York and become a famous writer. Fast forward to the present, and Dani is on her way back to Wilmington NC to do a story for the magazine she works for. She is going home to win her ex back even though he is engaged to someone else. This is what the article is going to be about. She is on her way with her photographer Sawyer and here is where the fun begins! I've never read Mary Carter before but after reading A Southern Christmas I can't wait to read more of her.
Christmas In Montana by Cathy Lamb is Laurel's story. She is a band manager in Los Angeles, hates her job, quits, and comes back home to Montana. There she finds out that her mom and her Aunt have sold her family home to Josh. Who is Josh you ask? Her ex who is a hunk and still has the same effect on her. How is she going to convince him to the sell the house back to her? He comes up with a plan. She must go out on ten dates with him and then he will sell her the house back! I think she would rather have root canal but she agrees. Oh the fun! I was laughing out loud and snorting!
Under The Mistletoe by Lisa Jackson is the story of a woman, Meg who thinks her marriage is over and nothing can be done to fix it until tragedy strikes. This makes her nostagic for better days and she thinks back to the first Christmas they had together. It's a very sweet story! Meg has a secret and it's a big one as you will soon learn. Can she save her marriage? Will she ever be able to convince her husband Chris, just how much she truly loves him? I've always loved anything by Lisa Jackson and Under The Mistletoe surely didn't disappoint. My heart broke for Meg and I was praying with every page turned that the other shoe wasn't going to fall. You will know exactly what I'm talking about when you read her story.
I devoured these stories in two sittings and they each left me wanting to read more. All four stories held my interest from the very first page and I was instantly caught up in all of the characters lives and business. I was laughing out loud at the hilarious situations each of these stories had.
