Devin Lyle has returned to Salem after inheriting her Aunt
Mina's cabin. Her great-aunt whose ghost is still in the
house and Devin can see and talk to her. To add to her
fear
that maybe she is living in THE HEXED house, she finds the
body of a woman in the woods close by ... she also finds
that
she is not the only one who can see ghosts.
Craig "Rocky" Rockwell, the newest member of the Krewe
of
Hunters, a team of F.B.I. paranormal investigators
finds
himself back in the area he grew up. He never forgot his
friend whose body he found, nor the fact that he had heard
her call for him. After she was dead.
The discovery and circumstance bring the Krewe to Salem
and
they try to delve through the history of the witch hunt
and
stop the deaths. Along the way Rocky and Devin find that
they have a lot more in common than seeing ghosts ... they
are falling for each other. They both must use every skill
possible to find the truth or Devin just might be next.
THE HEXED will take you through an intriguing maze with
the
right amount of twists and turns to keep you off balance
to
the surprising ending. Author Heather Graham has a
fantastic way of leading you down one road letting you
think you know who did it only to throw up an unexpected
wall and you have to start over playing detective. I love
the Krewe of Hunters as a whole and the way they
work
together. Rocky and Devin are the perfect match and the
romance between them was actually cute. He is solid and
despite being anxious about the case and his past, he is
thinking deeply of a relationship but is unsure if now is
the right time.
I thought it was great how finally Devin took the
big step because she was tired of waiting for the right
time and just made one. There were a couple of minor
problems I had with this book. At times I wanted to say to
Devin ... how many times must he explain that the more
they
know the more they can eliminate suspects ... because she
kept defending her friends and Wiccan's as a whole. Also I
would have liked for the ghosts to get a little more into
the action. It seemed to me that Aunt Mina should have
been
more help; she was after all a witch and knew the area and
how things worked. Also after bringing up the ghost from
the Witch Trials time, it would have been nice to somehow
complete her story. That said I still enjoyed THE HEXED
and
look forward to what ever comes out of the captivating
mind
of Ms. Graham.
Devin Lyle has recently returned to the Salem area, but her timing couldn't be worse. Soon after she moved into the eighteenth-century cabin she inherited from her great-aunt Mina—her "crazy" great-aunt, who spoke to the dead—a woman was murdered nearby.
Craig Rockwell—known as Rocky—is a new member of the Krewe of Hunters, the FBI's team of paranormal investigators. He never got over finding a friend dead in the woods. Now another body's been found in those same woods, not far from the home of Devin Lyle. And Devin's been led to a third body—by…a ghost?
Her discovery draws them both deeper into the case and Salem's rich and disturbing history. Even as the danger mounts, Devin and Rocky begin to fall for each other, something the ghosts of Mina and past witches seem to approve of. But the two of them need every skill they possess to learn the truth—or Devin's might be the next body in the woods…
