Callie Brewster came back from Afghanistan three years ago, and since her sister's death, she has been raising her nephew, Martin, now eight years old. Things were going rather well until the week before when Martin witnessed a murder and he will have to testify. Callie adamantly refuses to go in the Witness Protection Program; instead she decides to reach out to a trusted comrade in arms: Finn O'Donnell. Finn has relocated in the small town of Burnt Boot, Texas with his dog, Shotgun. He's had a crush on Callie for years, but neither thought it a good idea to have a personal relationship, and when he got involved with another woman, they lost track of each other. Until she showed up unexpectedly that November day asking for his protection. At first glance, Callie thought she was settling in a quiet, small town, but the feud between two local families, the Gallaghers and the Brennans, makes it everything but. A woman from each clan has set her sights on Finn; and both see Callie as an enemy. Their Holiday Season hostilities have been a yearly tradition for as long as anybody can recall, and the presence of Callie has upped the ante.

COWBOY BOOTS FOR CHRISTMAS is the first book in the brand new Burnt Boot, Texas series, and to say it's promising would be a major understatement! It's a charming, sweet, touching, entertaining and zany story, filled with a fantastic and colourful cast of characters and the funniest menagerie ever, including a parrot nobody will forget. The Gallagher-Brennan family feud is just sheer madness, the dialogue is priceless, funny and authentic: I felt I was right there in Texas! Carolyn Brown was a new author to me, and I cannot wait for what she has in store for us in the upcoming books! Burnt Boot, Texas is where I want to spend Christmas this year!

Feasting
Frolicking
And...Feuding?

All he wants for Christmas is peace and quiet...

After two tours in Afghanistan, retired Army sniper Finn O'Donnell believes his new ranch outside the sleepy little town of Burnt Boot, Texas, is the perfect place for an undisturbed holiday season. But before he can settle in, an old friend shows up looking for protection and a place where nobody knows her name.

But that's going to take a miracle...

Callie Brewster must relocate to protect her young nephew, Martin, and the only person she trusts is her old Army friend, Finn. Burnt Boot seems like the perfect place to be anonymous, but it turns out a small town with big drama is no place to hide...
