THREE DAYS ON MIMOSA LANE is a story filled with emotion.
Samantha Perry, Sam, is a survivor. Having lived through the
horrible tragedy of 9/11 and being right in the middle of
Ground Zero as a school teacher protecting her kids, she has
faced a living nightmare and is trying, not very
successfully, to move forward. Her husband, Brian, has been
her trusted supporter, moving the family to the small town
neighborhood of Mimosa Lane in Chandlerville, Georgia. Sam
tries to put on a brave face, but she is not functioning
well outside of her home. Brian takes care of the things Sam
can't manage, and she keeps her husband and sons well-fed
and well-loved. In THREE DAYS ON MIMOSA LANE things will
change in a drastic manner not just for Sam and her family,
but for the whole community.
Sam is finally trying to move forward and heads to the
school for a bake sale. She struggles to get into the gym
and help the teachers and parents deal with the kids.
Tragedy strikes and Sam finds herself in the hospital once
again, spiraling back to where she was over ten years ago.
She knows she can't go on with her life the way it has been
since 9/11. Her husband is at a loss as how to move forward
and help Sam. Can this family survive through all the
heartache and guilt consuming them? You'll find yourself
flipping the pages late into the night to find out!
THREE DAYS ON MIMOSA LANE is the second book in the
Seasons of the Heart series, and although it can
easily stand alone, I would suggest reading the first novel
CHRISTMAS ON MIMOSA LANE and meeting Samantha and Brian
Perry through the eyes of their neighbors while the focus is
on Mallory,, Pete and Polly. I recommend Seasons of the
Heart for anyone looking for depth in a story that is
filled with heartache, forgiveness, grieving, and learning
how to move forward.
I am looking forward to meeting more neighbors on Mimosa
Lane! You get to know everyone just like you live on the
block, and that is the what a great author does. Anna makes
you feel as if you are right there in the characters living
rooms or in the school cafeteria, trying to get through the
same problems they are all dealing with. THREE DAYS ON
MIMOSA LANE is a fast-paced novel that exposes some real
issues and flaws in what comes across as a perfect
community.
Once, Sam Perry had it all. A loving marriage, an amazing
job she adored as a preschool teacher, and a beautiful home.
She was safe, happy and secure.
Then the unthinkable happened...
Watching his once carefree wife withdraw into herself was
almost more than Brian Perry could handle. The only thing
that kept him going was knowing that he loved her more than
life itself. Moving her out of New York to Chandlerville, a
small, quiet suburb of Atlanta, felt right. Anything, to get
her away from the memories of the buildings, and her world,
crashing around her.
Now, two sons and many years later, Sam cherishes the new
life on Mimosa Lane that Brian built for them.
Until lightning strikes twice...
Called a hero by her small community, Sam feels more like a
coward than ever. Instinct draws her into an altercation at
her children's school—an instinct that also drives her
away from the warm cocoon of her family.
Brian refuses to lose his wife again. He agrees to give her
the space she asks for, but he soon realizes space isn't
something they and their children can afford. He knows their
love can still conquer all. But this time he'll need their
entire community to help him win his wife back.
