In 1241, when Zoltan Czakvar's father was murdered and his village destroyed, Zoltan vowed to find out who was responsible. He spent years traveling with the only clue he had, an arrow, but no one ever recognized it. When Zoltan finds a vampire named Russell carrying an arrow like the one that killed his father, it's his first clue in eight hundred years. Determined to find out where the arrow came from, Zoltan follows Russell to Tibet but what he discovers there is beyond even his fantasies.
Hidden from the world in a secret valley, Neona is a warrior on a mission; find a man and become pregnant to ensure more female warriors for the valley. When Neona finds Zoltan, sparks fly, but Neona finds herself unable to use Zoltan, especially since the expectation is that she kill him once she's done with him. Protecting the secret that's hidden in the valley has been all that Neona has ever known but now that she's experienced the forbidden fruit of love, she begins to question all her mother, the queen, has taught her. The secret the warrior women are protecting is bigger than anything the vampires could imagine and with the evil Lord Liao, Master Han and his soldiers all after it, this might be a fight even the vamps can't handle.
Kerrelyn Sparks returns to the addictive Love At Stake series with number fifteen, HOW TO SEDUCE A VAMPIRE (WITHOUT REALLY TRYING). Zoltan finally gets his story, and it's one I couldn't put down. I love how he slowly worms his way into Neona's life and gets her to trust him. With Kerrelyn Sparks usual brand of humor present and the return of many beloved characters, including Howard, everyone's favorite were-bear, this is a book fans will be clamoring for. One thing I really appreciate about Sparks is that she really diversifies her characters. They travel around the world and come from all sides of the globe, which is great to see since it's the same with readers. HOW TO SEDUCE A VAMPIRE (WITHOUT REALLY TRYING) is a thoroughly entertaining read and a fantastic addition to the Love At Stake series. I can't wait for the next book!
