II want to be Dr. Maren Scofield, the lead female character from Maya Banks' FORGED IN STEEL. Ms. Banks got Steele's book right. He has always been one of my favorites in her KGI series. You never know if the author is going to live up to your expectations when they finally write the book about your favorite character. Ms. Banks captured his personality, persona, characteristics and the heart of the person he is, right down to his core. You can tell that I loved FORGED IN STEELE. I recommend this book to anyone that likes to read about gorgeous, bad ass men that stand up for what is right, and that have a heart under all that Steele exterior. You can read this story as a standalone, but I recommend if you have not read the other books in the KGI series to go back and start at the beginning of the series. they are worth the time.
While out on a mission to extract a daughter of a wealthy family from a dangerous man. Steele, one of his teammates, and Christina Westlake are hurt. Steele decides the closest place for them stop on their way back to the KGI compound in Tennessee, is in Costa Rica to have Dr. Maren Scofield patch them up. After everyone is taken care of at the clinic, Maren heads back to her small house. She is very surprised when she walks in to find Steele in her living room waiting for her. The chemistry that is between these two is off the charts. It is so thick in the air they can almost see it. Steele admits to her that he has not been able to get her out of his head since they met. He proposes a one night stand so he can get her out of his system, she agrees. Marian is more then happy to have just one night with a man she has not been able to stop thinking about, either. If one night is all she can have, she will take that over not having had him at all. He leaves the next day and she is thinking she will not see him again until he needs her to again patch up either himself or one of his teammates.
Several weeks go by and Maren who has not been feeling well gets a knock on her door While she expects it might be Steele she is suprised he is there to announce that since their night together he hasn't been able to get her out of his head. Just as they all settling into a routine life interferes and they are again separated.
You will have to read FORGED IN STEELE to find out what happens. There are a lot of twist and turns that you don't expect and help from people you would never expect. You will not want to put down FORGED IN STEELE until you are finished. You will love the characters and the story. If you were not a big fan of Steele's before his book, you will be when your finished reading.
