Romance Paranormal

Alpha Force, a covert military unit, consisting of shifters and non-shifters alike is missing two of their members. Lt. Quinn Parran's brother, Lt. Simon Parran and his new wife Lt. Grace Parran have gone missing during their honeymoon at the resort town of Bar Harbor, Maine. Looks like Quinn is going to have to unofficially become an UNDERCOVER WOLF.

Quinn had been reluctant to join the unit in the first place but having his non-shifting spotter Staff Sergeant Kristine Norwood help him adjust to the ins and outs of the unit, things are not as bad as he thought they might be. Couple of problems with his attraction to Kristine is she is completely gung ho military and fraternizing with officers is definitely on her list of not to dos and when Grace does come back he'll get another spotter because Kristine is actually assigned to her. Though he does enjoy testing out the elixir (it helps shifters shift without the full moon) cause she does react when he gets naked.

Besides going missing there are other things that have cropped up in the forests of Bar Harbor; a couple of people have been killed by wild animals and rumor has it that the powers that be believe Simon and Grace are at fault. Quinn and Kristine don't believe it and neither does their superior though his hands are tied, but if they want to take leave and go to the resort he can't stop them, now can he?

Bar Harbor is a beautiful area perfect for a shifter to run free but there is something sinister afoot. It will take everything they have to seek out the truth behind the attacks and find out if the honeymooners are even still alive. It will also take everything Kristine has to not give in to the sexy companion that she is growing more and more attached to. Can she keep her military head on straight or will her body cave in?

UNDERCOVER WOLF is nonstop action with a number of twists and turns that has the reader still getting answers to questions until the very last page. I enjoyed the way the trust built up between the main characters through the storyline until the end when that trust is needed it's there. Ms. Johnston has a winner on her hands with this installment of the Alpha Force series.

SUMMARY

Danger and desire collide in a race against time P.I. Quinn Parran's mission is simple: to join Alpha Force, a unique military team of shape-shifters, and use their new elixir to enhance his shape- shifting abilities. With the aid of Sergeant Kristine Norwood, each shifting experiment sparks something more volatile than any challenge he's ever encountered: a primal passion. And when Quinn's brother vanishes on his honeymoon and is suspected of murder, Quinn must join forces with Kristine to investigate.

With no choice but to go deep undercover as newlyweds, Kristine finds herself enjoying the charade a little too much. She is attracted to Quinn, but isn't about to get involved with a shape-shifter. Until their quest becomes more dangerous, and Kristine must put aside her doubts and put her full trust in Quinn….
