Ah, if you don't like Cowboys, you most certainly will after reading Lori Wilde's A COWBOY FOR CHRISTMAS. I've read many of her books and they've all been good, but this one is at the top of my list!!!!!!! I would read it again, and again.
Lissette Moncrief lives in a quiet town Jubilee, Texas with her little boy. She was left a young widow after her husband was killed in the war. I have not read the first 2 books of this series, but you don't need too for this book stands alone.
Having a bad day, Lissette hits a car and it's owner is one good looking cowboy and is also her deceased husband's half brother in search of her and her son. Apparently, her deceased husband has left all of his money to his half brother, not to her, nor her son. She is bitter, but soon befriends Rafferty Jones and the heat starts rising between them. WOW!
Lissy finds out that her son is going deaf and is beside herself. Always turning the other cheek for others, she will now learns to stand up for herself with the help and love from Rafferty. He wants to give her the money her husband has left to him, but she's as stubborn as a mule. As the time passes they both fall in love, but they both are not sure if it's the real deal, but time has a way of telling.
A COWBOY FOR CHRISTMAS is an edge of your seat read! I loved the characters, the secrets her mom-in-law had to tell, it was t a very good read and one not to miss. The relationship that builds between these two is electric and I literally sat on the edge of my chair waiting for the tension to explode!!
Lissette Moncrief has had a tough stretch. Her late husband left his life insurance to a half-brother she’s never heard of. Now her son needs a series of tests that require plenty of time and money--two things she’s very short on. At the end of a very long day, the last thing she needs is to get into a fender bender with a cowboy. Of course, that was before she had any idea how quickly that cowboy could change her life. Rafferty Jones was blown away by the beauty of the woman in front of him--even if she had backed into his truck. She was clearly having a bad day, and all he wanted to do was take her troubles off her hands. But putting himself out for others had long gotten him nowhere, and he had a life to get back to in California...as soon as he returned the life insurance money he’d had no business receiving. But when the woman from the parking lot and the woman he feels he robbed turn out to be one and the same, Rafferty knows he just might be in Jubilee to stay...and just in time for the holidays.
