"In This Taste of Her Fairy Tale Series, Eloisa James Doesn't Stint on the Humor"

Fresh Fiction Review

Seduced by a Pirate

Romance Historical

In this adjunct book to The Ugly Duchess, Eloisa James ties off the dangling ends of Griffith, James Ryburns piratical partner's story as he heads to Bath to meet his bride for the first time since their misfire of a wedding night. Griffin left his wife still a virgin but is returning home to three young children who bear his name. Still, as he was hardly a priest while off on his adventures he can't blame Phoebe for wanting a bit of warmth in her bed. And it is good to have the succession of the family title well in hand. Besides, now that he is home things can take their natural course and they can pick up where they left off. Phoebe was relieved when her young stripling of a husband sent news he was alive, but after fourteen years of absence she has created a life with her three adopted children and her friends that she finds very satisfactory. Surely there are grounds for an annulment. When Griffith shows up assuming he shall have full rights to the marriage bed she realizes the youth who leapt out their bedroom window has been replaced with a tattooed pirate who is used to taking what he wants. James' trademark wit shimmers through this delightful tale of love found in the most unlikely of places, a marriage bed left cold for fourteen years. It is a joy that she takes the time and effort to satisfy readers' questions about characters mentioned in her main books, the smaller novellas she writes are a welcome taste of her fairy tale series between the main volumes. I greedily snap up anything she publishes  and I am certain I am not alone in that. SEDUCED BY A PIRATE provides a suitable introduction to Eloisa James' work if you are new to her always entertaining stories.

SUMMARY

Sir Griffin Barry leapt out of the bedchamber window at age seventeen after a very disappointing wedding night, drank a bit too much at the pub...and woke to find that he'd join the crew of a pirate ship! Years later, he's become one of the most feared pirates on the high seas, piloting the Flying Poppy, a ship he named after the wife whom he fondly (if vaguely) remembers.

What happens when a pirate decides to come home to his wife...if she is his wife, given that the marriage was never consummated? And what happens when that pirate strolls through his front door and is met by...

Well, that's a surprise!

Don't miss this enchanting, sexy tale of a pirate and the wife he never knew—but is determined to seduce.
