Fifty-two year old Hawaiian Mikala Aulani is a defense attorney in Dunwoody, Georgia for Sophie Lee a 24 year old, RN caring for a critically ill wealthy woman that she stands accused of killing. Sophie believes that everything bad happens to her on a Tuesday. Verdict day is a Tuesday! When Sophie is convicted even though many believe Adam Star to be guilty Kala is filled with regret over not being able to prove her client's innocence.

Ten year later and Kala is planning to retire to be with her significant other, retired Judge Ben Jefferson, it's time to devote herself to the relationship of 25 years. Packed and ready to leave the office for their 6 month vacation, a DVD delivered to her reveals a terminally ill Adam Star confessing to the murder of his wife. Furthermore, Adam has left his entire estate worth millions to Sophie, leaving her one of the richest women in the world. The prison release of Sophie begins a whirlwind effort to file wrongful prosecution against the town and more personally, Ryan Spenser, the prosecutor on the case.

The plan to sequester Sophie away in Hawaii at Kala's home soon goes awry and her presence becomes known. As further evidence is uncovered, Kala's outlook of the events as well as the conduct of Ryan soon becomes troublesome to her. Everything is not as it looks or should be and Tuesdays aren't always predictable. Kala fears her secrets will forever be her burdens alone to bear.

TUESDAY'S CHILD is is such a suspenseful and exciting mystery, packed full of intrigue. The characters are brilliant weaving their investigations into something that no one could possibly fathom. As usual Fern Michaels has again outdone herself in creating a most compelling tale of love and adventure in the beautiful South and the lovely Hawaii. I seldom miss a new book by this author as they always completely capture my every moment!

TUESDAY'S CHILD is an unforgettable page turner!

SUMMARY

On the eve of her retirement, Georgia attorney Mikala Aulani is as vivacious and vibrant as ever, eagerly anticipating a happy future with her partner, Ben. But if Kala has learned anything in thirty-five years of practicing law, itโ€™s that the truth can always surprise you. And when Adam Star turns up at her office, confessing to the long-ago murder of his wife, Kala must return to a notorious case that has never stopped haunting her. Ten years have passed since young nurse Sophie Lee was accused of murdering her wealthy patient, Audrey Star. Kala defended Sophie and had no doubt of her innocence โ€” or of Adam Starโ€™s guilt โ€” but the prosecution convinced a jury otherwise. Sophie was convicted on a Tuesday โ€” the day on which every significant event in her life, good or bad, seems to happen. Now, on the verge of his death, Adam exonerates Sophie and also leaves her a huge fortune in atonement. Released from prison, Sophie retreats to Kalaโ€™s house and tries to evade the media frenzy that surrounds her. Kala is determined to help her client make her way back into the world and adjust to her new wealth and freedom. Yet for both, there are still revelations in store โ€” about the nature of redemption, the strange workings of fate, and the power of forgiveness. And most of all, about the secrets that hide in every heart โ€” even those we think we know best.
