My favorite supernatural duo is back and better than ever. As with their previous collaboration When He Was Bad, Shelly Laurenston and Cynthia Eden each contribute to HOWL FOR IT a novella featuring awesome shifters, vamps, and the people who love (or loathe) them.
Like A Wolf With A Bone takes us back to the 1970's and the meeting and mating of Egbert Ray Smith and Darla Mae Lewis, the parents of so-scary-she's-cool Dee-Ann Smith. Now, if you had asked me to guess which character Ms. Laurenston would feature in her next book, Eggie Smith, the taciturn killer who prefers his wolf form, would have been literally the last name on the list. Not due to lack of interest but rather an inability to imagine how he could hold his own as a leading man. I am here to tell you, never underestimate Eggie Smith (or turn your back on him). He is attracted to Darla Mae the minute he sees her and she sees past the surface to the amazing man who could love her for a lifetime. Their quintessential Smith courtship was exciting, sexy, adventurous, violent, and fun.
In Wed Or Dead, Ms. Eden asks the question- What would happen if a hunter married a vamp? Kayla Kincaid was assigned to get close to Gage Ryder by any means necessary. She never expected that would involve a visit to a Vegas wedding chapel. Now she's married to her sworn enemy, on the run, and discovering that the good guys and the bad guys may not be as easy to spot as she once believed. I thoroughly enjoyed Kayla and Gage's story. The conflict between them and between them and those who hunted them was intriguing and left me reading late into the night to see how it would all turn out.
