Jane Yellowrock is back home in Asheville, NC heading up
security for a parley between the Blood Master of the City
of New Orleans, Leo Pellissier and local vamp Lincoln
Shaddock. Things turn ugly when tourists in the Asheville
area turn up dead and bloody and the local media are hanging
the whole mess on the new vamps in town. Leo orders Jane to
resolve the issue quickly and get back to her job of making
certain the parley goes smoothly.
Jane is more than willing to do what she does best, that is
use her curiosity and the extra skills of the beast she
carries within her to track down the killers and take care
of them for good but she is horrified to learn that her
carelessness in a former job has led the danger right to the
door of her former neighbor and good friend Molly and her
witchy kin.
Faith Hunter doesn't disappoint in this fourth Jane
Yellowrock book. She does a terrific job driving the main
story forward while still satisfying the curiosity of long-
time readers regarding just what is happening with hottie
cop Rick LeFleur since he was bitten by a crazed African
were-leopard. She weaves in the consequences of actions Jane
took in previous books in the series without leaving new
readers out of the loop. RAVEN CURSED is the natural result
of the previous three volumes while still working well as a
stand alone book. Still, I say you can't get enough of one
of my favorite kick-ass heroines so if you are new to the
series, give yourself the gift of books one through three.
You won't regret it.
The vampires of Asheville, North Carolina, want to establish
their own clan, but since they owe loyalty to the Master
Vampire of New Orleans they must work out the terms with
him. To come up with an equitable solution, he sends an
envoy with the best bodyguard blood money can buy:
skinwalker Jane Yellowrock.
But when a group of local campers are attacked by something
fanged, Jane goes from escort to investigator. Is it a
rogue-vampire, shapechanger, or witch? Or something else
magical? Unless she wants to face a very angry master
vampire, she will have to work overtime to find the killer.
It's a good thing she's worth every penny.
