Even princesses need to escape their castles I guess. At least that's what Alex planned -a simple little escape from her reality. And her idea of an escape was to go where everyone goes to have fun -Disney. The crowds and families would help her goal to just blend in and at the same time afford her the opportunity to be normal for awhile with no entourage or bodyguards. Of course she would have to do this behind her parents back. The King and his Queen would never agree to this plan which could possibly put her in peril.
Garrett King was cajoled into spending the day with his brother's family at Disney. He adored his nieces and loved spending time with them but even so the thought of all those kids and the crowds was pretty much a scene he would rather avoid. His specialty as a security agent for the rich and famous trained him that crowds weren't the safest place and even though he was there for fun and games with his favorite little girls he couldn't help keeping a watchful eye on his surroundings. And that's basically how he caught sight of Alex. She had a guy doggedly pursuing her, really quite innocently trying to pick up a girl, but from her demeanor Garrett knew the guys advances were entirely unwanted. So true to type Garrett played the role of white knight helping the guy get the impression Alex was with him.
Alex was so relieved and if she were to admit it rather attracted to this big guy holding a beautiful little girl, and strangely thinking that she missed the boat finding her hero. Once Garrett pointed out that he was here with his brothers family and the little girl was one of his nieces Alex has a sense of relief. Pretty silly considering they just met and she was only here for a week. Then it was back home to her life as Princess. But while she could she was determined to enjoy herself with her hero and as long as he didn't figure out who she was theirs was to be a vacation dreams were made of.
But Garrett was beginning to suspect that he knew Alex from somewhere and as soon as he figured it out he also realized that his discovery would squelch any thoughts of a quick hot fling. His security senses were on full alert but at the same time he didn't want to let on that he actually knew who Alex really was. This deception was surely going to bite him on the butt. It would only be a matter of time before Alex placed him with the King Agency and as soon as that happened all bets would be off. Somehow the prospect of discovery really weighed on him as he became to feel something strong for this beautiful, smart and real woman. But even he had to be realistic.
