"The Humorous Heroine makes this story a fun read"

Romance Historical

As the reader sinks further into this book, they will realize that although Olivia is not the typical romance heroine, she is a wonderful main character. Olivia has the type of humor that many might say was unusual in her time period and she does not have the ideal figure, but she will form an instant connection with the reader. The hero is an interesting figure as well. He is actually meant for the heroine's sister. Quin, the man in question, has intentions toward Olivia's sister, but when he meets Olivia she makes him think twice. They begin to form a friendship that gradually progresses into something more. Olivia worries about what her sister might think and their rocky relationship will amuse the reader. The plot moves along at a steady pace. The reader will slowly get to know the other characters, but will likely enjoy Olivia's sense of humor most. The characters play off each others' humor much to the happiness of the reader. The plot itself is easy to follow and exciting. The reader will certainly have a hard time putting this book down. The dialogue in this book is both humorous and intense. The author writes smoothly and will capture and hold the readers' attention. The heroine herself makes THE DUKE IS MINE worthy of a second look.

SUMMARY

For Olivia Lytton, bethrothal to the Duke of Canterwick— hardly a Prince Charming—feels more like a curse than a happily-ever-after. At least his noble status will help her sister, Georgiana, secure an engagement with the brooding, handsome Tarquin, Duke of Sconce, a perfect match for her in every way...every way but one. Tarquin has fallen in love with Olivia. Quin never puts passion before reason. And reason says that Georgiana is his ideal bride. But the sensual, fiery, strong-willed Olivia ignites an unknown longing in him—a desire they are both powerless to resist. When a scandalous affair begins, they risk losing everything—Olivia's engagement, her sister's friendship, and their own fragile love. Only one thing can save them—and it awaits in the bedroom, where a magnificent mattress holds life-changing answers to the greatest romantic riddle of all.
