Risa Jones, because of her hybrid nature of half werewolf and half Aedh, can see the supernatural creatures who escort souls of the dead, the reapers. However, this comes with a price, as she realizes she is not only being followed, someone is stealing souls from around her. In fact, at first Risa seems to be a suspect, but the reapers are more concerned that her father, an Aedh priest, will contact her.
Not only a fast-paced tale, but DARKNESS UNBOUND also provides an excellent mystery with surprising twists, as well as wonderful characters. Any fan of Keri Arthur's Riley Jensen Guardian series should pick up this first book in a new series.
