ANIMAL ATTRACTION, book 2 in Jill Shalvis's Animal Magnetism series, is a delightful read full of cuddly animals, hot men, and confident women. The romance between two passionate and emotionally scarred people is appropriately toe-tingling. However, I was really drawn in by the friendships which capture one type of modern family; people who are loyal and loving out of mutual respect and need rather than biological relationship. As an animal lover, the four-legged friends were a lovely bonus. This book is definitely a must read for fans of contemporary romance.
Jade Bennett left Chicago to find a peace after a traumatic event; what she found was Sunshine, Idaho and the veterinary clinic run by Dell Connelly. Eighteen months later, Jade has enjoyed running the Connelly kingdom, which includes Adam Connelly's pet training business, but feels the pressure to return to her real life. As she faces the idea of leaving behind her friends, the walls she has built between herself and hot doc Dell begin to crumble. Having seen him avoid commitment at all costs and knowing she's leaving, she's unwilling to risk her heart. But the passion that flares between them is hard for either of them to ignore. Can she figure out that she might just be living her "real life" before it's too late?
Jade Bennett couldn't be happier to escape her past for the
quiet ranching town of Sunshine, Idaho. Plus, there's
nothing like working for veterinarian Dell Connelly. And
though Dell has no intention of settling down, Jade's
strength and sass are enticements no red-blooded male can
resist.
