Garden View Cemetery has big plans to celebrate President
Garfield's 179th birthday. When Pepper Martin is tapped to
coordinate the exhibit with her usual flair, she is hindered
by the ghost of Garfield who is not at all pleased with the
hubbub near his tomb. Still, all would be well if not for
obnoxious volunteer and self-appointed Garfield expert
Marjorie Klinker whose grandiose plans and drill sergeant
demeanor are pushing Pepper's sanity to the limit. When
Marjorie is thrown to her death over a second floor railing
in the Garfield Memorial, there are an abundance of
suspects. Not to mention a few quiet celebrations among the
neighbors who object to Marjorie's spotlit nine-foot tall
back yard statue of President Garfield.
Pepper Martin is as fashionable and sassy as ever as she
determines to catch the killer to spite her detective ex-
boyfriend. Throw in identity theft, a handsome stranger, and
an increasingly creepy stalker and the stage is set for an
entertainingly cozy mystery. Daniels populates her sixth
book in the series with a cast of zany yet believable
characters. The mystery is light and frothy with hints of
romance...perfect for a relaxing read.
Cemeteries come alive for amateur sleuth/reluctant medium
Pepper Martin.
Cleveland's Garden View Cemetery is hosting a James A.
Garfield commemoration. For tour guide and reluctant medium
Pepper Martin this means that's he'll surely be hearing from
the dead president himself. And when she's assigned to help
plan the event with know-it-all volunteer and Garfield
fanatic Marjorie Klinker, she'll wish Marjorie were
dead...too bad someone beats Pepper to it.
