Romance Suspense

Luke Webber loves the life he has created in Alaska as a bush pilot. It's a different adventure every day, some good, some not so good. But when Isabella Kopas walks into his life, it gets turned upside down. The old life he left behind eight years ago comes flooding back into existence.

Isabella works for Marcus Fie, a dealer in antiquities. She is an expert in her field and has lived and worked with Marcus for six years. He is like the father figure she never had. On the night of his birthday, he gives her a necklace to wear to the party. She does not have time to research it, only time to adorn herself with the exquisite piece of jewelry.

As the birthday party in Boston turns into a kidnapping and takeover by Marcus' right-hand man, Isabella barely escapes with her life. It seems the necklace is the focus of the coup and she needs answers fast. She makes her way to Alaska searching for Luke Webber, aka Adam Fie, who happens to be Marcus' son.

A fast-paced journey ensues in which Isabella and Luke travel by plane, boat and on foot through the wilderness of Alaska to escape Marcus' henchmen who've been sent to bring her, Luke and the necklace back to Boston. Isabella does not believe Marcus is capable of such, but Luke has no doubts that he is.

Isabella is determined to show Luke that his father is a good man. He is not sure that he can trust her, but she needs Luke and is resolute to prove herself to him. In this battle of wills, Luke and Isabella find they have strong feelings for each other. Will they ever be able to act on those feelings? As their journey returns them to Boston to settle the account, Luke learns things are not as he perceived them to be when he took off eight years ago. Isabella finds things are not as she perceives them in the present.

Stephanie Rowe has woven a fast-paced tale of adventure, suspense, and romance in her latest novel, CHILL, that crosses the country in search of answers. This is a real page-turner you just cannot put down.

I like the sound of this book. Fast-paced
suspense with a wilderness twist is a
favorite. I'll be looking for this one.
