Romance | Historical

The upright rule-follower of the Boscastle clan, Emma, spends her days teaching young girls how to act in society and the rest of her time trying to control her family and their outlandish behavior. She doesn't expect to find herself on the "daring" side of the family until events at a wedding show her how easy it is to cross to the dark side.

When Emma finds one of her suitors in a compromising position, she spurns him on the spot. Except he doesn't take it well, and nearby rogue Adrian Ruxley leaps in to help her. Only, in a not very dashing manner (much to his dismay), he ends up brained by a footman armed with a chair.

Rumors begin and even threaten Emma's school. A rival has opened another school and is insinuating that Emma may not be as upstanding as she has always appeared. Unfortunately, at least in Emma's opinion, she's beginning to care a little less about what everyone thinks and a little more about the passion that Adrian has ignited.

The Boscastle series is one of my favorites! Ms. Hunter twists plots, people and dialogue into delicious, sexy fun. You'll enjoy seeing Emma realize that life isn't always about following the rules -- and Adrian realize that sometimes, rules can be fun!

SUMMARY

Adrian Ruxley may be a ruggedly charming rogue, but he’s not a man to stand idly by while a lady is accosted–even at a wedding organized by the lady herself, Emma Boscastle, instructress in the social graces at her London academy for young gentlewomen. Adrian confronts the offender, a scuffle ensues, and now this smooth-talking heir is left to recuperate under Emma’s very roof, delighted to see the deep concern in her lovely face. She has a charm no scoundrel can resist. Emma is scandalized by her own behavior–seduced by a handsome stranger, indeed! How will she be able to hide her indiscretion from the perceptive Boscastle siblings? The divine passion that Adrian has unleashed, and the sensual delights he has shown her, have suddenly turned Emma’s days at the fledgling academy into a display of impropriety and her nights into a velvet abyss of sensual abandon. But as their intimacy reveals Adrian’s turbulent secrets, Emma is inspired to her most ambitious endeavor: redeeming a rake.
