Kate Connor's life defines the word complex. Or crazy might work, too. This retired demon hunter, who got pulled back into the demon-hunting world when the creatures appeared in her backyard, is struggling to create a normal life for her family. It's a little tough when she constantly has to call in back-up to remove dead demons.

Add in the fact that her daughter has discovered she's a demon hunter and is considering following in mom's footsteps or that she thinks her dead husband is inhabiting the body of a high school teacher and well...we're right back at complex.

Kate's fighting to figure out why demons are attacking her. She finally discovers what they want and what could happen if super-demon Andramelach is released by the ceremony the evil ones are trying to perform. Kate will be forced to make a decision between saving a man she loves and allowing Andramelach -- an invincible demon -- to be released into the world. It's not really a choice.

I was thrilled to discover this wonderful author with her first demon-hunting soccer mom book. It's a fun premise that Ms. Kenner fully develops with excellent characterization, intriguing stories and snappy dialogue. Can't wait for the next one!
