Thank you so much for this wonderful review, Monique! I'm very happy that you liked Houston's and Lara's story. These two asked for so little but received ten times over. I just love writing about those hard times in the 1800s when nothing was easy--most of all staying alive. Any number of the smallest things could kill you. A spider bite, a fall, some kind of disease, bad men roaming the territory. Danger was everywhere.
