Unraveling family secrets can be murder in Suede to
Rest...
THE FIRST BOOK IN THE ALL-NEW “MATERIAL WITNESS” MYSTERY
SERIES
With her career as a dress designer in shreds, Polyester
Monroe is looking forward to a fresh start. But as it all
unfolds, the pattern to a new beginning looks a lot like
murder.
When Poly Monroe was little, she loved playing in her
family’s textile store. But after a fatal family tragedy,
Land of A Thousand Fabrics was boarded up and Poly never
expected to see the inside again. Now, as inheritor of
the
long-shuttered shop, she’s ready to restore the family
business. However her two new kittens, Pins and Needles,
aren’t the ones causing a snag in her plans…
Not everyone wants Poly back in San Ladrón, especially a
powerful local developer pressuring her to sell—and leave
town fast. But even when the threats turn deadly, she’s
not
ready to bolt. Because Poly is beginning to suspect that
the
murder behind the shop is tied to a mystery in her
family’s
unsettled past that she’s determined to solve…before her
own
life is left hanging by a thread.
Your posting brought back a lot of memories for me. My Father passed away about 6 months ago, and after Probate was over, I had a chance to go into my Parents' house with my Sisters. While going through my Mother's sewing machine cabinet, I came across scraps of fabric that my Mother used to make dresses for us when we were small, and for our Barbie dolls. I still have one more trip to make there, and I'm looking for the old buttons that she had in a special container. I'm a bit rusty as far as sewing goes, but the curtains that I made for one of the bedrooms still hang proudly in the windows. Your book series is really going to have special meaning to me, being a child of the 50's myself, and I'm really looking forward to reading it!! Thank you for coming here today, and taking a trip down memory lane with us, letting us know a little more about the book than we would normally know!! It's always fun to know a little more background than normal from the Author!! The cover is wonderful as well!! Whomever did the artwork, really outdid themselves, and deserve a pat on the back!!
